Of course not.

Absolute guarantee this will have a terrible undercard, as Frank and Bob know the main event sells itself.

May end up better for Parker for Matchroom to have won. Not entirely sure Matchroom/DAZN have a clue what they are doing with Andrade do they?

I wonder if the fight will happen. $1m won’t be big money for Andrade. Perhaps he holds out for the winner of the interim middleweight fight and has another fight in between.

Shame as Andrade vs Parker would be a really good fight I think.

Then, he should be stripped for the 160 belt..

He's in limbo.. Doesn't even know his next move,

He's been earning $m's in his previous fights.. He may as well bloody retire..

It would have been money wise I think but he’ll have home advantage if the fight happens so it’s a trade off I guess.

Matchroom haven’t been able to get any top level fights for Andrade in the US, he almost certainly doesn’t drive subscribers and is probably being paid extremely well.

I hope that fight happens but I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if it doesn’t.

Andrade vs. Parker Clash Targeted For Pride Park, Says allegedly

Frank ---Warren, promoter for undefeated super middleweight contender Zach Parker, says his boxer is confident of victory in the upcoming showdown with Demetrius Andrade.

Andrade, a two-division world champion, will be heading up to super middleweight to face Parker for the vacant interim-WBO title.

The winner position himself to challenge the full WBO champion, Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.

On Thursday, Warren outbid Andrade's promoter, Eddie Hearn, to secure the promotional rights to Andrade-Parker.

Warren is going to stage the fight at Pride Park in Derby, England. The exact date is still being worked out.

Andrade has fought overseas in the past. In 2017, he traveled over to Germany to defeat Jack Culcay to win a twelve round split decision, and the WBA's 154-pound 'regular' title, on hostile ground.

"Zach Parker will get home advantage for his big night against Demetrius Andrade after we won the purse bid to stage the super middleweight clash. Now we are looking to put the WBO ‘interim’ title fight on at Pride Park - the home of Parker’s beloved Derby County. This is going to be a very tough fight for unbeaten Parker against former WBO middleweight champion Andrade," Warren told Daily Star.

"The American will bring over an unblemished record and a reputation for being hard to beat. But Parker is confident he can cause the upset and put himself right in line for a shot at undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez.

"On Thursday, the purse bids took place and yet again Queensberry Promotions sealed the deal. We put in a bid of $1,834,050 (£1,372,378) and beat Matchroom Sport, the other bidders, who submitted an offer of $1,750,00 (£1,309,087)."

Hearn on Losing Andrade-Parker Purse Bid: It Has Absolutely No Commercial Interest in America

Why does the self-described best promoter in the world keep losing purse bids?

That question, in all its baldness, was lobbed to Eddie Hearn, the head of Matchroom Boxing, in light of Hearn’s recent failed attempt to win the purse bid for the super middleweight bout between his charge Demetrius Andrade and Zach Parker. Hearn, to be fair, has won his fair share of notable purse bids over the years, but his recent track record has caused some observers to wonder why the well-heeled British promoter is becoming uncharacteristically tight with his money.

Earlier this month, Hearn came up short in a well-publicized purse bid for the Tyson Fury-Dillian Whyte heavyweight title bout, losing out to Frank W of Queensberry Promotions, whose $41 million submission was a record and more than $9 million more than Hearn’s offer of $32 million.

Fast forward a few weeks later, Hearn would lose out to Warren again, in a purse bid for Andrade-Parker. Warren turned in an offer of $1,834,050, eclipsing Hearn’s offer of $1,750,000.

Hearn, who would have staged Andrade-Parker in America, provided a candid answer to his interrogator's question, saying he was not interested in paying over and above what he felt was the actual value of that fight.

“When you make a bid for a fight, you make a bid in relation to the commercial value of that fight,” Hearn told IFL TV. “It doesn't matter if you lose it by $60,000 or $70,000 or you lose it by $5 million. That’s your interpretation of the value.

“Demetrius Andrade against Zach Parker really has absolutely no interest in America at all, quite frankly. And that was the value of the fight we were bidding for in America.”

Although Rhode Island’s Andrade (31-0, 19 KOs), a two-division titlist, is regarded as a superb talent and has been well remunerated under Hearn, he is not considered a commercial draw. England’s Parker (22-0, 16 KOs) is not exactly a hot commodity either, in that respect.

Hearn said he had to leave his ego at the door and stick to putting in a realistic bid.

“Also, in the UK, it’s not a particularly big fight, but I would have liked to have delivered it in America, and that’s what I felt like what the fight was worth,” Hearn said. “You got to understand business. This sport is full of fur coats and no knickers. It’s full of people who want to buy Rolls Royce's but can’t afford the petrol.

“So you have to just behave in a way that isn’t ego-orientated…each individual fight has an individual value…it’s not even a big fight.”

Hearn, however, isn't too concerned that he won't be presiding over Andrade-Parker. The important thing, for Hearn, is for Andrade to win. Hearn said the decision for Andrade to move up to 168 and go through a purse bid is part of a larger plan to line him up to become a mandatory challenger for unified 168-pound champion Canelo Alvarez. The Parker bout is classified as an interim title bout.

“We liked the route because it's an interim title because the winner of that fight could fight someone else and then could become the mandatory for Canelo Alvarez,” Hearn said.

“Obviously if I won the bid I wouldn’t be telling you that it’s not that big a fight in America,” Hearn continued. “Let’s make one thing clear: Demetrius Andrade versus Zach Parker in America, I’m sorry, is not a big fight.

“But there is a route that could make sense going down that route, so that’s why I bid for it. At that level you can’t go to Demetrius Andrade, do you want to take ‘x’ [amount] to take the fight. Demetrius [had] what, a $1.2 million purse for fighting Zach Parker?

“I think that’s pretty good money, to be honest with you. Unfortunately, that was the value that I felt that fight had, I can’t be more honest than that.”

Think tonight settles it, Andrade wont be coming to the UK to fight on a fwank wazzen show.

He would of had doubts after jacobs vs ryder... but now he would be crazy to come here and fight in the away corner for a show after seeing the Ian John Lewis card today.

Demetrius Andrade Accepts Terms For WBO Interim-Title Fight With Zach Parker

Demetrius Andrade will set his sights on a third weight division.

Boxing Scene has confirmed that Providence’s Andrade has formally accepted the terms surrounding his ordered WBO interim super middleweight title fight with England’s Zach Parker. The decision will mean a road trip for Andrade, a two-division and reigning WBO middleweight titlist who will fight outside the United States for just the second time in his 13-plus year pro career. The fight is tentatively scheduled for May 21 at a yet-to-be-confirmed location in England.

Queensberry Promotions, Parker’s promoter, claimed the rights to the fight after submitting a winning bid of $1,834,050 during Friday’s purse bid hearing held at WBO headquarters in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The bid outpaced the next highest offer from Matchroom Boxing, Andrade’s promoter who offered $1,750,000 in an earnest effort to secure promotional rights. Both sides were given 48 hours following the session to agree to move forward with the fight, with Andrade (31-0, 19KOs) using the full period before offering his decision just before the deadline.

Andrade is entitled 65% of the winning bid, or $1,192,132.50. The remaining 35% ($641,917.50) goes to Parker (22-0, 16KOs), the longtime number-one contender in the WBO super middleweight rankings.

In theory, the winner will become the WBO mandatory challenger to undisputed WBA/WBC/IBF/WBO super middleweight champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez (57-1-2, 39KOs) who was permitted by all four major sanctioning bodies to next fight outside the division. Alvarez confirmed plans to challenge WBA light heavyweight Dmitry Bivol (19-0, 11KOs), which will take place May 7 at a location to be determined.

However, the purse bid order noted that the WBO can order “that the winner of the Parker/Andrade bout faces in his next bout the Interim Champion, or Mandatory Challenger, as the case may be, of any of the remaining three (WBA, WBC & IBF) recognized sanctioning organizations.”

The WBO and WBC have both confirmed its willingness to explore the possibility of an interim title fight unification. The unique scenario would have Andrade-Parker winner to face whoever prevails in the soon-to-be-announced WBC interim super middleweight title fight between former two-time full champ David Benavidez (25-0, 22KOs) and former IBF middleweight titlist David Lemieux (43-4, 36KOs) which is also eyed for mid-May. From there, the winner would serve as the mandatory for two sanctioning bodies.

Separate from that, Andrade will have a decision of his own to make even with a win over Parker. Should the 33-year-old-southpaw emerge victorious, he will have ten days to decide whether to remain at super middleweight or resume his WBO middleweight title reign.

The latter puts him on the hook for a mandatory title defense versus the winner of a WBO interim middleweight title fight involving Kazakhstan’s Janibek Alimkhanuly (11-0, 7KOs), whose mandatory title status was enforced by the WBO in ordering a title fight with Andrade last November 30. Talks dragged on for nearly two months, including three separate purse bid delays and an outright cancellation once Andrade was permitted to instead face Parker for an interim super middleweight title.

Parker has held the number-one spot in the WBO super middleweight rankings since November 2020, only after Alvarez committed to a fight with Callum Smith for the WBA “Super” and vacant WBC title. Alvarez was permitted to jump the line as a WBO Super champion, despite Parker having previously won a sanctioned title eliminator in a March 2020 11th round knockout of Rohan Murdock. Parker has since won three fights, including a fourth-round stoppage of Marcus Morrison last November 6 in Birmingham, England.

Suggested locations for Parker-Andrade include London, Birmingham and Parker’s home region of Derby, England.
