He’s easily top 2-3 Brits ever. Crossed the pond to take out the legendary Battling Nelson.

Went over to the wildest place on earth at the time and built a reputation, single-handedly as a man not to be messed with. Todays fighters from UK would shit their pants to do tha, barring maybe Josh Taylor. Look at that fat fûck Whyte he wants a private jet from Portugal imagine him getting on a fuckin ship to sail for Americacoghaugen11 wrote: ↑24 Feb 2022, 10:07He’s easily top 2-3 Brits ever. In general life, and I am loathe to mention his name, Paul Syjes on account of him being huge, a madman, and liable to turn you around and give it to you. ![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Did I say that?
He is bar far the gamest fighter we’ve had for years in the Uk. Will literally fight anyone.
Re: most intimidating british fighters
He was fighting 15 & 20 round fights. If you told him he would only have to go twelve to get a world title, he would say it was a belt for Nancy's

You were clearly sticking Taylor in the same bracket as Moran by saying ‘bar Josh Taylor, todays fighters would shit it’ when Taylors never had to do anything like what Moran had to do.Wee Tommy wrote: ↑24 Feb 2022, 16:15jameswilson wrote: ↑24 Feb 2022, 12:54Which fight in America did Josh Taylor travel to by ship then?Wee Tommy wrote: ↑24 Feb 2022, 10:37

‘Taylor would literally fight anyone.’
No I’d say Taylor would box anyone in his division or the division above at 140 or 147 for a large purse. In fact give it a year or two and he won’t be facing all of Spence, Thurman and Crawford. There will be a contractual demand or something stupid that will block some of those fights for this guy who will literally fight anyone.

Re: most intimidating british fighters
I bet Ted kid Lewis made a few think about life choices when squaring up to him.

Re: most intimidating british fighters
There is a great paragraph on Wikipedia about Ted Kid Lewis.. the background to the story being that after he retired he acted as bodyguard and was quite close to politician Oswald Moseley.
However as Moseley’s views got more extreme, his growing anti-Semitism clearly didn’t sit well with Jewish Lewis.
“In his biography of his father, Morton Lewis describes how he was taken along by his father when he went to quit Mosley's movement. It involves Lewis violently arguing with Mosley and a pair of his henchmen at their headquarters, leaving the former reeling on the ground and the other two out cold. Then, after leaving, Lewis is described as returning to the building on a whim and knocking out two more of Mosley's guards without provocation.“
That last sentence just tells you about the mindset of fighters in those days. Once the fuse was lit ……

Re: most intimidating british fighters
bob fitz is a funny one, he looks like the archetypal bald middle age dad, but dude busted up fools with the best of them
Re: most intimidating british fighters
Pat Barrett looked like he could do you some harm. Still does.
But yeah Nigel Benn is probably the winner of this easily. Never seen a more aggressive British fighter than prime Benn.
