Khan to exercise rematch clause?
Heard the very media friendly Mr Shalom on talkSPORT earlier, (he even had a very pleasant interaction with Mr. W).
Says he has heard a few whispers that Khan may (its an outside chance) exercise his rematch clause.
Apparently Khan feels he prepared all wrong by going to America, was tired before the fight and took Brook too lightly.
Classic case of the mind starting to repair itself after a trauma!
Wonder if he can hold Brook back from pursuing other options?

Brook will think it's done with Khan. Chapter closed.Frostieballs wrote: ↑24 Feb 2022, 12:08 Heard the very media friendly Mr Shalom on talkSPORT earlier, (he even had a very pleasant interaction with Mr. W).

The rematch would still sell, but no where near the first bout..
I don't think Khan would take it.. He had very small success in the fight.
He would be taking the smaller side of the purse this time around.
Hearn said he's going to do everything he can to get Brook vs. Benn..

Pretty sure the purse amounts for a rematch have already been decided (when the clause was agreed).Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑24 Feb 2022, 12:11Brook will think it's done with Khan. It probably stipulated the winner gets the lions share if a rematch occurs..Frostieballs wrote: ↑24 Feb 2022, 12:14Pretty sure the purse amounts for a rematch have already been decided (when the clause was agreed).Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑24 Feb 2022, 12:11Brook will think it's done with Khan. Re: Khan to exercise rematch clause?
Shalom’s showing a lot of promise as a promoter - his vulture instincts appear to be as finely tuned as Eddie’s and Frank’s as he tries to feast on the bones of what’s left of the careers of Brook and Khan.
Re: Khan to exercise rematch clause?
Where Khan trained, who he trained with, and what he ate/slept/shat makes no difference on how shot he is.

Re: Khan to exercise rematch clause?
Who would he train with this time?
Abel Sanchez?
You can’t teach chin or punch resistance can you,
Re: Khan to exercise rematch clause?
Nothing to worry about, the last time around the ref was merciful enough, the second beating in a row will be stopped even faster. Just a bit of whoopin' and decent check. Amir, let's go.

I actually don’t think he was testing the water. I don’t think he wants the fight either.coneye wrote: ↑24 Feb 2022, 17:29THISCaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑24 Feb 2022, 16:03 Shalom’s showing a lot of promise as a promoter - his vulture instincts appear to be as finely tuned as Eddie’s and Frank’s as he tries to feast on the bones of what’s left of the careers of Brook and Khan......Obvious Shaloms , just quickly throwing it out there to gauge a quick reaction , Khan has 3 weeks to excercise the rematch clause ,, he's just a promoter talking like a promoter
He wants Brook to move on to other things (Eubank most likely) but mentioned the rematch clause more as a potential spanner in the works.

Re: Khan to exercise rematch clause?
I wonder if the rematch clause contract has a guaranteed purse, or is just purely split based.
If theres a garrentee minimum Kahn should just do it for the cash/laugh/brain injury, or get sky to pay him out a bit of it (i assume if theres gareentees sky would take a loss on it, there is really no appetite for a rematch, less than i would of guessed there would be pre fight 1).

Re: Khan to exercise rematch clause?
PPV for a return bout would be awful- a financial disaster waiting to happen.

Could Khan exercise the clause just to be awkward….
Then ask for step aside so Brook can fight Eubank

He could fight Brook and hit the deck after 30 seconds, casuals would buy into Khans bullshite about not training properly etcFrostieballs wrote: ↑25 Feb 2022, 03:04 Could Khan exercise the clause just to be awkward….

Re: Khan to exercise rematch clause?
If Khan wants a rematch then he’s worried about his financial stability in later life.
Sure, we’d all be set up if we had their purses but Amir leads a very expensive lifestyle.
If it were to happen… Khan is risking getting severely hurt…
The BBBC have a duty of care to stop this happening tbh.

No, it's a lot of money. Most boxers won't make that much in their careers.bigjack wrote: ↑25 Feb 2022, 05:56Still can't just forget 5M down the drain, bet his wife spends it like crazy tooRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑25 Feb 2022, 05:45Yh that was before he went into the jungle.
