By the time these two guys enter the ring for their bout, they would have accumulated a combined total of thirteen years' worth of experience constantly engaging in mismatches against journeymen. :yay:

Finally! This fight is now signed and scheduled for May 7, on the Canelo-Bivol event.

I wonder why BoxRec still doesn't have the Hrgovic-Zhang and Anderson-Hammer fights on their schedule.

Anderson-Hammer is on the Fury-Whyte undercard, and Hrgovic-Zhang is official for the Canelo-Bivol event.

Not the rest of the undercard, but the Hrgovic-Zhang fight is signed and official.

As is the Anderson-Hammer fight on the Fury-Whyte card.

I don’t know about the logic BoxRec uses, but the Canelo-Bivol undercard hasn’t been “officially” announced yet, even though we already know the what some of those bouts are.

Perhaps Boxrec is simply waiting for the official press release?

That’s the trend I typically notice, but I could be wrong.

Matchroom posted the same tweet 15 hours ago, around the same time The RING published the press release.

So even though we knew about Matchroom winning the purse bid on the 24th February, with the bout being appearing on the undercard of Canelo-Bivol (on the 8th March), I guess BoxRec must have waited for an official statement from Matchroom.

You're probably right.

I'm assuming that BoxRec only updates their scheduled bouts list based on official confirmation, either from receiving direct notification from the promoters or waiting for official press releases (or statements from the sports' governing bodies).

There was a few cards, I think it was Top Rank, not long ago, were only the main event was listed and the rest of the card was not showing and only appeared on boxrec a day before the event.

That ring any bells?

Butaev just fought in an eliminator that he lost to Stanionis, And Bivol is Russian defending his title.

It could be different organizations have different rules WBO, WBA, IBF, WBO but Russians are still competing and Berbiev is in a Unification against Smith So Russians are still competing, Most of the Ukrainians are fighting in the war Berinchyk Golub, Bohachek, Loma, Usyk etc, but apparently Usyk is going to or maybe he has left already to train for the Joshua fight, wars happen all the time and the fighters never have any say in it, unless they are in a country that tells them what they have to say. So I say let the fighters fight in boxing if they are able

Buster Douglas was hurting because of his mother's death, but he still fought Mike Tyson - and won.

Hrgović would have honored his father by going through with the fight and winning the IBF eliminator.

People handle loss differently. Comparisons are never a good idea where death is concerned.

Well it wasn't the reason I predicted but I knew it would be cancelled.
Any competitive fight that does not involve the world title usually gets cancelled anymore.
This sucks I wanted to see an 0 go
