VP was 5'7-1/2, with a 70" reach.
TA seemed to be of relatively similar physical proportions.
I Really Don't see TA having a Decisively Natural Size advantage over VP.

Paz would've made a heckuva fight for just about anyone, at 154,including in this hypo vs The highly touted Ayala.
I see Paz trading in spots, but also utilizing his shifty bursty footwork, and being able to Go Bullish Brawler Mauler in equal terms with Ayala. I think that in terms of counter-punching, Paz would have the slight edge. Ayala would have the slight edge in landing the bigger blows. Paz would also have the edge in working the jab, simultaneously with his in and out defensive maneuvers. Especially the swift and shifty footwork and elusiveness, which he still maintained quite well at 154.

I would not feel 100% certain that VP would pull off everything I'd envision vs TA, but it just seems likely that he would likely utilize his abilities enough to come out of this bout with The Victory. Likely by a 6-4-2 type of decision. If one was knocked down during this bout, it'd likely be Paz, but I see him getting up and not being discouraged or intimidated. Paz would be one of those very few that wouldn't be in profound fear of Ayala. Respectfull yes, Fearful, barely at all, or maybe zero fear.

Paz was Really Full of the Fire Within, and had he just stayed at 154, he certainly would've accomplished significantly more, and I have no doubt of this, and against a Tony Ayala, they're coinciding styles would've made for an epic battle.
I think that after 10,it'd be dead-even,and then Paz would've won the last two rounds, all fired up and riled up,thriving on second and third winds, deriving a high spirited energy from the roaring crowd chanting "Paz"," Paz","Paz".
