Don't know what the ref was thinking letting this one go as long as it did. I wonder if Valero will employ these tactics at the weekend. I remember in his last fight when he went to the second round he was seriously running out of steam.

In some of the footage I've seen he looks like a scaled down George Foreman: winging heavy punches from way back...the champion must be feeling a little more nervous than usual before facing this guy tomorrow, wondering just how hard he really hits.
But if you can stand the power early, there's a good chance a decent fighter can out box a tiring Valero after the first few rounds.
His arms have to get heavy with all the punches he throws, more so if he's missing.
But he does appear to be a serious hitter, and without tempting fate, seems to have a decent chin too.

Valero's the real deal. What you see here is his knockout style, that was him keeping up the record. He adopted this style as as his fights got into the teens trying to keep up the 1st round ko record. The hands down is to bait his opponent. Valero's has many more gears and has legit skills. He's not Ponce De Leon the 2nd.
lol @ "he looks horrible". He came right out landed and couple thunderous punches and the guy was already on the deck. Hardly horrible.

Ok don't believe me. Watch this sparring footage and it will tell you all you need to know about his technique.

I agree he looked dodgy there alright but from 'west coast sparring chronicles' he sounds awesome. Dougie Fisher at maxbox cannot say enough good things about him.Riddick Blowe wrote:his technique is crap. You really can't dispute that if you know boxing. winging away with crazy telegraphed shots, no defence, I predict he gets starched on Saturday.
Hopefully we will see the true full package in his title shot..?
