There should be no such thing as a rematch clause, The title is not your plaything. Respect to George though for not taking an easy option for first defence like many do. We love him down here

rematch clauses are annoying as f@ck, although tbh i dont mind it so much here cuz i feel like its an okay trade off for kambo being willing to take such a tough first defence voluntarily, after just fighting a top opponent too

I can undrstand it, when there's a longtime champion, like Holmes or Klitschko, but when a guy defends for the first time after he dethroned another guy in his first defence, that's over the top, be it voluntary or mandatory. Moreover, mandatories are often determined in a sh!tty way. Kambo himself didn't look like #1 contender, although he proved to be real deal. Who is the best contender now, if not Loma?

Is Loma the mandatory for any of the belts? It's a big shame that the Haney fight hasn't been made, but Loma beats GK easily and then destroys Garcia.

It would seem likely that Haney and Davis will move up and stay up after their next fight. Shakur Stevenson is the only one who could make the division interesting.

This nonsense about opposition to rematch clauses. Would you fellows sacrifice your rights to negotiate freely?

These are adults and they can put a clause into their contracts about postfight stripdancing sessions or wearing Mickey Mouse costumes to the ring if they want to.

Davis is never fighting Loma regardless of what happens. No way Floyd let’s that happen until Loma’s blowing out candles on his 40th birthday cake.

If Loma still has the Cardio to blow out candles Floyd will be hesitant.

I think if Loma asked the Ukraine would let him out. Farm more usefull to have Loma giving people a bit of a hero and a platform as a public figure to talk out against russia than holding a gun.

But will Loma want to look like he is abandoning his people? its a fine line to walk between being a sporting hero to idolise, and someone running away from war.

Yeah. It’s a tough one. Won’t particularly look good if he fights Kambosos but Usyk stays in Ukraine.

I think they should just make the Haney fight whilst hopefully Russia will come to their senses.

Kam vs. Haney should be made for June.

Then hopefully Loma can fight the winner.

Oleksandr Usyk and Vasyl Lomachenko given permission to leave Ukraine for fights against Joshua & Kambosos

The cultural minister of Ukraine has now offered both Oleksandr Usyk and Vasyl Lomachenko the chance to leave the country’s defence forces to train for potential next fights vs Anthony Joshua and George Kambosos Jr respectively, Bob Arum has stated.

Arum says the Ukrainian government believes that this would be a great angle for publicity if they let Lomachenko and Usyk leave to compete in their important fights.

If Usyk and Lomachenko leave Ukraine now, it’s unclear what the situation will be when they return in two to three months.

IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Usyk and Lomachenko, both Ukrainians, have been defending against the Russian invasion for weeks.

Usyk hasn’t said whether he’ll leave Ukraine, but Lomachenko reportedly wants to train for a title fight against IBF/WBA/WBC Franchise/WBO lightweight champion George Kambosos Jr. on June 5th in Australia.

If Usyk chooses to stay behind to defend against the Russians, Joshua will need to find another opponent for his next fight in June or July.

“Ukrainian government, which is tremendous, is cooperating with us as far as Lomachenko and also Usyk,” said Bob Arum to the Fanatics View. “They realize it’s a tremendous publicity angle for them to come out [of Ukraine] and train and participate in title fights [against Kambosos and Joshua]."
