Is it time for a two year boycott of the boxing establishment?
Last night was the last straw. Catterall got robbed. Arum did it. Everybody knows it. No one in the establishment will dare to say it because The Bobfather runs the sport. But does he really? No, the fans, the paying customers run the sport. And we have the power. We can boycott the sport for two years to send the message -- NO MORE FIXED CORRUPT fights and no more set ups and ducking the best fights.
I will pay to see Fury vs Whyte and AJ- Usyk 2 but that's it. Boycotting everything else. Not going to fund Bob Arum or Al Haymon's corruption anymore. Arum is a billionaire and the greedy SOB won't die soon enough so he can keep robbing us. BOYCOTT boxing for two years to send the message. Catterall is undisputed 140 champ, Taylor is the corruption cheese champ.

With this mindset, nothing will change, the bad decisions and rigged fights will continue and probably increase.daz74 wrote: ↑27 Feb 2022, 18:18as a boxing addict I can confirm that i will not be participating in any such boycott600450 wrote: ↑27 Feb 2022, 17:17 Last night was the last straw. It's not just Bob Arum and other US based promoters.
Here in the UK, we're currently the worst country for bad scorecards and corrupt decisions.
Happened on many Matchroom and Queensbury cards over the years.

Not going to miss Whyte vs Fury, no chance of that. This fight has the highest level of appeal. Even if Arum rigs the judges, we'll know who the real winner is.

It would improve the sport immediately
Re: Is it time for a two year boycott of the boxing establishment?
I used to write for boxing websites. Many of my articles were about corruption and biased judging. It brought attention to this, but it didn’t stop it. There are certain boxers who are protected by their promoter. Eventually it stops when the boxer or promoter retires, but there are always others. The corruption may decrease in one country, but then in other countries it becomes more prevalent. The sanctioning bodies are involved sometimes when it’s a title fight.
Boxing has lost fans because of MMA. There are less boxing events in my state of Florida. When I started writing about boxing, there were events almost every month. Sometimes there were two in the same week and I had to decide which one to attend. At least boxing is still considered to be a sport and not like American football which is really only entertainment at the pro level. More people are aware that the games are rigged especially toward the end of the season and the playoffs. I used to enjoy watching football and now I barely watch it.
Boxing was more corrupt decades ago, but people may not have been aware of it or didn’t care and there was no other alternative for watching combat sports in America except for kickboxing and that has never been very popular here. One of the only positive reasons about having several sanctioning bodies is that if a boxer is robbed of victory by one, then he or she can win a title in another. I’ve seen that happen for male and female boxers.
