Re: Jack Catterall
I don’t think Jack deliberately coasted through the last few rounds I think he was running on empty after dominating the first half of the fight. That said I thought he was still competitive in the last third and definitely won the 11th.
Regardless, he shouldnt need to dominate the whole fight to be given the decision, he just needs to clearly be the better man over the whole piece which he definitely was.

Absolutely. I get so sick of these comments from Flat Earth et al about "championship rounds" and "have to rip the belt from the champion". Those aren't the fornicating rules.CaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑28 Feb 2022, 08:29 I don’t think Jack deliberately coasted through the last few rounds I think he was running on empty after dominating the first half of the fight. It really should be so simple shouldn’t it?dookus wrote: ↑28 Feb 2022, 09:12Absolutely. - Did Catterall get more points that Taylor?
- If yes, he wins!
It doesn’t matter when they are scored!!

10 point must?forcefraser wrote: ↑28 Feb 2022, 07:50Why should it be 10-9 to Jack?TheGman wrote: ↑28 Feb 2022, 06:51The last 4 rounds? Taylor got a point deducted in one of them rounds so that's a 10-9 to Jack isn't it?forcefraser wrote: ↑27 Feb 2022, 09:16 Jack should have closed out the show.
Knowing how crooked boxing is, why give the last 4 rounds away, including a 10-8?
Asking for trouble and that's what he got.
We all know he won the fight, but going missing for the last third has bitten him on the arse.
Poor sod must be gutted
If Taylor won the round, which he clearly did, then it's 9-9

exactly those fcukers have done him out of millions and they'll do it again in a few weeks and nothing will be done about itmickey1975 wrote: ↑27 Feb 2022, 11:24Probably 100k max compared to a couple of million for defending the unified belts.....
Re: Jack Catterall
Exactly,Taylor is the champion yet he got a boxing lesson and dropped in his own back yard, surely this counts for more than "He didn't go and tear the belts from the champion" if someone gets beat they get beat regardless of champion or challenger.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑28 Feb 2022, 07:59 these late rounds taylor could still barely land a clean shot, it was hardly like he was putting it on cat hard, you could easily give some of these to catt too.
taylor just could not solve cat's defense, the low southpaw crouch totally befuddled him

That's before deductions for fouls.TheGman wrote: ↑28 Feb 2022, 12:0210 point must?forcefraser wrote: ↑28 Feb 2022, 07:50Why should it be 10-9 to Jack?

If you win the round but lose a point for a foul it's 10-10

He's coasted in all of his previous fights. It was a terrible habit that he developed there.
Re: Jack Catterall
Is the 10 point must system just an American thing? I don’t know if I’m honest. I scored the 11th 9-9 as it seems like a more natural thing to do.
My card would change from 114-111 to 115-112.
Doesn’t matter but good to actually know the regulations on this.
Re: Jack Catterall
You are making me doubt myself now! But I reckon that is the British system, but I suppose that could change for different bodies for world titles.
I would be interested to know what others reckon

He easily won that fight and got ripped.
Bottom line, if Catterall hadnt been holding and doing very little else in the last third he wins the fight.
Catterall threw this away.
Catterall gave a boxing lesson to Taylor, bust him up and dropped him. it was a convincing win.
Taylor out-landed Catterall in only one round in the entire fight.
Re: Jack Catterall
Cant believe this is even up for debate. So clear that taylor got his arse handed to him and was gifted a win. Not even close ffs
