Great, so Julio Cesar Martinez weighed 122.6 pounds today, and Choco weighed 114 yesterday….I think

That’s quite an advantage ..not sure how much RG adds on next day usually ..

lara vs sanchez was an awesome little 3 round war. no worse than hagler-hearns.

they trade big shots from the get go, with lara dropping sanchez. they go right back at in the second, with lara having that extra bit of firepower and hurting sanchez at the end of the round. then sanchez storms out for round 3 and hurts lara to the body and beats him around, forcing lara to hold on and eventually fall to the canvas. lara gets a bit of a breather after falling, gets up recharged, and ktfos sanchez on the bell

My gosh, Lara is a tough, tough (maybe too much for his sake) assassin. Absolute slugger against Sanchez.

main event to come..........

undercard has delivered for sure:

fierro-burgos was a very competitive fight with decent action. draw was fair though burgos for me.
lara-sanchez an action packed short slugfest with both guys hurt and a ktfo
cisso-valenzuela/castro-madera............both faves clearly won, but both were dropped hard
pacheco with a statement ktfo vs a guy never stopped

Chocolatito's SD defeat against Estrada was a joke, Martinez is a phenom and still got showed who is the boss.

117-111 Gonzalez for me, I actually had Martinez 3-2 up but after Gonzalez hurt him in the 6th he took over and won every round after, he was amazing again, the fluidity, the angles, punch picking, leading, countering, footwork, balance, variety, lock, stock the facking lot, the volume has dropped a tiny bit but still has a great workrate, love the way how he pierces the straight shots through Martinez's high guard, the left hooks to head and body were razor sharp

Most guys at around this weight class are done at this stage but Gonzalez ageing like a fine wine and still p4p top 10 clearly, Martinez one hard hombre, never gave up but got seriously outclassed in there, these guys never fail to deliver

Nice one mate I didn’t catch the undercard but will make sure to check these out

The main thing that struck me watching this is (weirdly) HOW FVCKING GOOD Estrada must be. He had 24 rounds of Choco throwing 2500 punches at him and never looked overwhelmed even if he was losing rounds.

To even not look overwhelmed in the face of that absolute juggernaut of technique makes Estrada a damn good fighter, winning 9 or 10 or 11 rounds even over the 24 , makes him superb, just not quite Gonzalez. I thought at the time I was watching something special and rare, that Estrada was continually able to pose his own technical questions to Roman, and not just get overwhelmed by all the questions Roman was asking of him

I’ll say again and as usual I have never seen a better fighter than Gonzalez from straw to bantam and he is the best technical pressure fighter I’ve seen since Chavez.

He overwhelms people with the constant application if technique. Words fail me beyond that, he fvcking awes me.

great card this.

How impressive is Gonzales? Totally schooled El Rey. Martinez showed some massive cajones but was never in the race. I dont get the 116-112 card. I had it far wider.

I had him winning against Estrada in his last fight.

The little guys deliver again.

his greatness was on display tonight. aside from the usual combo punching and punch variety, he did a great job of shifting at the exact right time and leaving martinez with nothing to hit. martinez had big swings, but choco had a whole textbook full of tricks to take a fight aggressively and closely to an opponent, and yet also do it super skillfully. skill isnt just about hitting and running.

its been what's made gonzalez stand out thorghout his career, awesome blend of aggression and skill and technique. surely one of the most skilled inside fighters ever. he could punch at lower weights too. surpassed arguello as nic's best?

i think it's what makes gonzalez so satisfying to watch, you get aggression and action, plus the skill. ticks the boxes. often the super skilled guys are rather negative and make their opponents that way too, causing some stinkers. gonzo is the type where even his totally one sided fights are decent viewing

Lara is a beast. They really didn't do their homework on that before he first boxed Josh. Weirdly, Josh and his fans and promoter think it was a formality Josh was on his way to victory in the rematch. I saw the opposite.

rematch was way too short to claim 'on the way to victory'. lara can turn a fight pretty quickly too, dude has firepower. wise for josh's career not revisiting that again
