Hmm not sure. Think the late great Paul Hunter had a crack but not sure of his points yield. He was shown smoking many Embassy cigarettes between events.forcefraser wrote: ↑14 Mar 2022, 12:46 Wasn't there a darts player on Superstars once? Think he got zero points.
Pro rata boxers have performed poorly in these crossover events, to the tune it appears boxing is way more of a niche than other sports. Expect this is more magnified at boxing elite level. Genuinely feel in my pomp I would out arm wrestle, out sprint and out swim etc a huge % of elite level boxers. Not diminishing them here, just an observation.

I think I remember a commentator (? Ian Darke) stating that Big John McDermott could do the 100m in 11 seconds. Jesus christ, thats the biggest load of drivel i think ive ever heard.

Anthony Joshua was 11.53 in Superstars. That seemed pretty good. I wonder if he could break 12 seconds now? The javelin was interesting. Joshua only managed to beat Mo Farah by a couple of centimetres.
I wonder what big Frank Bruno could do in the 100m. He looked very ponderous in the basketball game with Lennox Lewis. I’m thinking Frank is probably 13.5 seconds.

I remember that. I wonder if the javelin was technique? Most junior athletes do all the disciplines at the club.polecateddy wrote: ↑14 Mar 2022, 15:48Anthony Joshua was 11.53 in Superstars. Javelin is just a weird one. You can either do it or you can’t. The extra 6 stone of muscle didn’t do Joshua any good.jimmystone wrote: ↑14 Mar 2022, 15:59I remember that. During my army days i was just over 13 stone and could hurl the javelin over 50 metres. Good enough to win medals, it was technique i guess.

Gary Stretch’s street record is very poor. 0-2. Didn’t he get beaten up by some villain?

Mike Weaver was beaten in a weight lifting competition by a few baseball players in the American version of Superstars in the early 80's.
Re: A boxers athletic prowess versus other sports folk.
John Conteh appeared in the American version of Superstars in 1977 when he was world champ. Sadly, Conteh was messed up at this stage of his life and he finished last.

Didn't Carolyn Dubois look to lose the gym competition with the female Sky presenter recently.
Boxing is often a lot more than just fitness.
Triathletes would likely be close to the top of fittest sports people - body builders or dart players at the bottom.
