I think both are a good level of opponent for Hughie. He's lost to a lot of the top guys and beat a load of nobodies. These two are both ranked 10-25.

They are both also intriguing, although probably not exciting, matchups as Helenius has the power and the reach to negate Hughie's movement and backpedaling while Hunter has the speed but not the reach. A victory would be Hughie's best to date while Hughie would be one of the better scalps for either Helenius or Hunter.

I would never want to witness another Fury fight. There were more action in the crowd that night.

It'a a shame Hughie's career has stagnated. He's more than capable of being the face of British boxing. Fun to watch, talented, charismatic and, for the ladies and the gays, a handsome chap too.
With the right management and his exciting in-ring style, Hughie could be a star. I was on the edge of my seat when he faced Parker.

Hughie Fury coming for ‘so-called top heavyweights’

Heavyweight contender Hughie Fury will return to action on April 4 at London’s York Hall.

Fury is 29-3 (16 KOs), and the 30 year old from Manchester, after three years out, recorded three victories in 2024 – via points over Kostiantyn Dovbyschenko and Christian Thun, either side of a stoppage of Patrick Korte.

Earlier in his career, Fury fought, among others, Joseph Parker, Kubrat Pulev, and Alexander Povetkin.

“I’ve enjoyed working with [promoters] GBM and I am excited to be signing this multi-fight deal,” he said. “I’ve been constantly in the gym and I’m coming for all these so-called top heavyweights soon. They can’t avoid me much longer and I’m going to spoil their day in the sun. I’m going to be busy this year and whoever wants it can have it. Call my team – I will be there.”

Hughie is still trained by his father Peter, who said: “Hughie is back in action and we are working with [GBM promoter] Izzy Asif to cement a big fight for Hughie this year. GBM have pencilled in Hughie’s next two fights for April and May. He’s ready for them all and we can’t wait for so-called experts to eat humble pie. Action is needed and Hughie is ready to deliver it.”

“The heavyweight division is wide open right now and the timing is perfect for Hughie to step up and emerge as one of the dominant forces in the division over the coming years,” said Asif.
