I'd forgotten about Shades. I'm more positive about that match than you. It would be acceptable. Not sure if him being with Boxxer would scupper it happening. I think he'd be cheap though, which Eddie would like.forcefraser wrote: ↑14 Mar 2022, 04:34Shades stinks the joint out. Can't see him getting the call.Grilling Machine wrote: ↑11 Mar 2022, 18:31 Wilder or Shades for me, returning the ball to Fury if he beats either. Also makes perfect sense for them to challenge AJ at this point in their careers.
I'd rather not Joyce because I think AJ might beat him, whereas I think he's a nightmare for Fury, so I'd like that one first. Else Fury won't fight him. But then again, if Joyce beat AJ...
Voted Wilder.

It's not what most of us want, but Hughie's a relatively small offensive threat and awkward enough to practise anti-Usyk strats on.
But that's supposing he fights Usyk after.

Hughies too good honestly. Got an excellent chin, decent gas tank and can box, why would AJ sign up for that.

It's probably best to take Hughie now.
In a few years he will be far too strong.

AJ has said announcement coming soon.
Re: Anthony Joshua's Interim Fight
I'd be fine with Wilder, Joyce, Ortiz or even Hughie. Don't think the Wallin fight is too interesting and I don't think it would be financially successful either. The rematches don't interest me at this stage either.

Re: Anthony Joshua's Interim Fight
what makes hughie more interesting than wallin? hughie blows it everytime he steps up plus has the quality of making his fights dreadful
ortiz barely survived chuck martin last fight, at this stage he's a glacial plodding old man, though he does have some power

Re: Anthony Joshua's Interim Fight
was aj hanging out with ruiz at sea or something?
Re: Anthony Joshua's Interim Fight
The fight wouldn't particularly be amazing as I would predict Joshua to run through Hughie or Wallin but the interest would come simply because of the style and the public conversation it opens up regarding various members of the Fury family. Wallin would just be a southpaw that's there to get beat decisively.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑18 Mar 2022, 08:09what makes hughie more interesting than wallin? hughie blows it everytime he steps up plus has the quality of making his fights dreadful

I'd just like to see Ortiz get KO'd into retirement. I used to like him but his attitude since the first Wilder fight has been shit.
From a sporting perspective only, everyone would want Wilder or Joyce but they are more of a risk and less likely so have to take what you can.
That's all just my view anyway.

Why you say that?
Re: Anthony Joshua's Interim Fight
Reminds me of that Ant and Dec jungle cobblers, they speculate about big names then they end up with some Z-list celebs, reality stars and old has-beens. Is Hughie Fury available?

Cryptic tweet yesterday from DAZN re keep eyes out for AJ announcement ..
Re: Anthony Joshua's Interim Fight
If true, this limits his options but depends on the interpretation of "top 10". If you take out Usyk, AJ, Wilder and Whyte you've only got 6 left. He's already faced Parker and Ruiz. Chisora is a tough sell if he's considered. Already beaten Pulev if he's considered. Not a lot to choose from. Hughie, Helenius and Wallin are objectively not top 10.
Even by loosely interpreting the definition of top 10, that leaves Wilder, Joyce? Ortiz? Hunter? Kabayel? Sanchez? Gassiev? Hrgovic? Yoka?

Luis Ortiz Recovered From Surgery, Would Like To Face Joshua Next
“King Kong Ortiz is Back! I am starting training this week. My rehabilitation of the hand injury is done. I am ready for anyone, including Hrgovic,” Ortiz told BS.com.
“Iff not him then any of the top contenders. I heard rumors of Joshua looking for southpaw work. I would be honored to step in for his [interim] bout while he waits for Usyk as he defends his beautiful country. My prayers go out to the Klitschko brothers and all the Ukrainian people.”

How old is Louis Ortiz? Must be at least fifty. He keeps dressing younger to try and fool us but he was about forty when he turned pro, wasn't he? Anyhow, Wilder is the man. They could make that.

Hearn is strongly hinting Wallin because AJ doesn't take easy warm ups. Who was Fury's warm up for Wilder?jimmystone wrote: ↑22 Mar 2022, 12:58 How old is Louis Ortiz? Must be at least fifty.
