LOU GENT

Post by nobleart1978 »

Does anyone know what "Lethal" Lou is doing these days ?

I remeber he was always with Alex Steene (in the dark glasses and white suit) back in the early to mid 90s.

If anyone has his fight with Gypsy Carmen could they post it up. I'd love to see that scrap again.

I got a feeling he went to live the quiet life in the country, near Norwich or something. Kids went to uni, life has been decent for him.

Steene used to pop into Hunslet boys club. He brought Mad Frankie Fraser with him a few times. Always unpaid. Alex was from the area, apparently. South Leeds.

I don't know. I met him when he drew with you know who. Without the knockdowns, he'd have won.

The Steenes (Alex and Greg) did a really good job with Lou. They were always able to bring him back after a loss and keep him earning. Welsh heavyweight Dave Pearce fought on a Steene show in the 1980s and flattened Belgium's Albert Syben in the first round with a huge left hook. I can still see an ecstatic Alex hugging Pearce like he had just won a world title. Unfortunately, it was off-TV.

Watch his fight with Henry. He nearly got crippled with body shots but kept on coming.

I genuinely thought you were from Swansea. How did you end up there?

Well I went pro at 18 while living in Swansea so I was always billed out of Swansea, also in total I lived there for like 15 years.

All the Welsh think I have a cockney accent and Londoners think I sound Welsh!

At least in Spain they can't tell the difference!
