DON KING BEATS OUT allegedly TO WIN TREVOR BRYAN-DANIEL DUBOIS PURSE BID

Post by BroughtonRulesRefuge »

- - Such are the screaming headlines in Ring.

Warren and by default Fury look like Wankers if he can't outbid the adult diapered 90 yr old King whose stable is a collection Who Dat who scarcely fight these days.

Should be a walkover for Dubois if he can shake the ref trying to limit his damage on "WBA" regular champ Bryan.

Poor Joyce- we scarcely knew him...

I kinda figured Fwank would not be digging deep for this.
It's so meaningless, it's laughable.
Still, I'll probably watch it, as long as its free.
If old Don thinks this is ppv, he can go and get stuffed.

Don King is not one of those promoters that honours his contractual obligations to pay the purses he promises.

There's a distinct possibility this fight won't go ahead.

Frank's bid was more than digging deep if you ask me. $2.5m he bid?

Fight's not even worth $1m if you ask me.

Oh, the belt is worthless. Everybody knows who has the proper ones, or most semi casuals at least.
Don King has now got to either make it happen or weasel out of it. And I'm guessing weasel out of it.
I feel for Doobie, this is not the crash and burn trajectory his career needs.

It seems that I may have been proven right.

"Don King going to court as heavyweight bid ‘doesn’t pass the smell test’"

Legendary promoter Don King is yet to get fully on board with a heavyweight title fight between Trevor Bryan and Daniel Dubois.

This outcome stems from a WBA purse bid won earlier this month against UK promoter Queensberry.

King won the rights to stage the mandatory bout with a bid of $3,116,001.00. Warren only came up with $2,503,000.00 through Queensberry Promotions.

Aiming to stage Bryan vs. Dubois on June 18th, King immediately stated venues for the clash as London, England, South Florida, and New York in the United States.

But upon learning of the purse split on the day of the Zoom bids, King handed in a protest to the World Boxing Association.

The WBA stipulated that Bryan, as the champion, would get 55 percent of the three million bucks. Dubois, as the former interim ruler, would get 45 percent.

That wasn’t going to fly with King, though. He explained why in a recent confirmation that legal action would be his next move.

“We don’t have a date because we protested the fight from the very beginning,”
King told Fight-Hype.com. “Something is going on that doesn’t quite meet the eye.

“When I had the interim champion, which was Trevor Bryan, we were going to fight Manuel [Mahmoud] Charr. We had the interim champion because we had beaten BJ Flores, and we appealed to the WBA for a 55/45 purse split.

“They categorically said we got to go by the rules. They gave me the ruling of 72/25 [split]. But what they did to me [this time with Bryan vs. Dubois] is give me a 55/45 because somebody asked for it.

“Then one day, they sent me a letter that says, ‘FrMarch 33rd, you got 180 days to do the fight, and you got sixty days for the negotiations.

“The next day, I get another saying the purse bid March 14rch. I was like, ‘which one is it going to be?’

“We protested that because something in the rules changed overnight when nobody really had the opportunity to negotiate.”

Asked if he expects the heavyweight title fight to take place this summer, King responded: “We’ve got a fight, but they have to come up with that [75/25 split]. I can’t be no 45/55 because we’ve got the champion.

“When we had the interim champion, the rules said the champion gets 75, and the challenge gets 25. All of a sudden, the champion gets 55, and the challenger gets 45, so we’re going to court on that.

“They’ll say that ‘Don King is not playing the game,’ but this doesn’t pass the smell test,” concluded the Hall of Famer.

Big question marks now loom over whether Bryan vs. Dubois will take place this summer as planned.

I mean, you predicted something as likely as the sun coming up, but at least you got it right.... but for the glory you need details, as follows. (this is kinda a joke, but if it happens i want full credit as predictor god).

-King will fight this, hard, he cant aford to lose millions on It. He will have trev locked into a set purse so if he gets this ruled in his favor, that just means an extra 20% going back to Don king himself, plenty of motivation to fight this till he dies....

-If he loses this case, to a point where legal action is futile he will have a plan B. Find any territory in the world where DDD is not welcom, He will scan the map, looking for anywhere he is not allowed, Then schedual the fight there....

-If he cant find somewhere wear DDD is banned he will schedual the fight in an active war zone and hope DDD dosent show, Mabey East Ukrain, Mabey Yeman, just somewhere you dont want to be...

-If DDD puts on a bullet proof vest and turns up, King will likely buy a burner phone and call in a bomb threat, postponing the show by 6 months....

-Then he will claim inactivity for uncontrollable circumstances and ask for a tune up fight, if WBA so no, He will fight them on court for another 6 months on it... If he loses that, its hail mary time.

-He will pay Fres oqendo to start legal action again claiming to be the rightfull challanger, And hope that drags on another 6 months...

-Eventualy DDD will cut his loses, try take an interim fight, which King will claim voids everything and gets DDD stripped.

Reportedly set for June II. I was worried Don King would delay it much longer.
