Loma only has two kids. If you have three, you can leave.

As President of Matchroom Sports I am uniquely positioned to be able to speak on equal terms to my fellow Presidents, Putin and Zelensky. Make no mistake, sorting out what's going on over there will come down to doing a nice bit of business and that is what I, Eddie Hearn, do best. We are looking at Red Square for the rematch with Putin and Zelensky sat with me at ringside on the night. The only conditions are a whopping site fee, a ceasefire, and a Nobel Peace Prize on my mantelpiece."

I got it at ‘my fellow presidents’ but word for word what preceded it actually wouldn’t surprise me to see Eddie say. ‘The language of business is universal. I speak that language fluently’ is absolutely brilliant. Brings out the David Brent in Hearn. There’s a fair few Brents about in UK boxing at the moment.CaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑23 Mar 2022, 18:06Haha I got a far as Zelensky sat at ringside before I twigged it was satirejimmystone wrote: ↑23 Mar 2022, 13:30 "This fight is bigger the boxing. Haha can’t argue with that, it was pure Eddie Hearn in IFL interview mode.Counter-puncher wrote: ↑23 Mar 2022, 18:09 I got it at ‘my fellow presidents’ but word for word what preceded it actually wouldn’t surprise me to see Eddie say. ‘The language of business is universal. As I was reading it I was thinking to myself “ffs Eddie how do you say this stuff with a straight face”

This is a rubbish look for Usyk. Choosing money over defending Ukraine. Loma has my full respect.

Telling the truth about what? He's doing this for the money. Let's not kid ourselves.Frostieballs wrote: ↑23 Mar 2022, 19:16Maybe he can do more good using the platform and telling the truth than staying and potentially getting his head blown off.

About the atrocities occurring in his home country, which only the West seems concerned about.Blueprint wrote: ↑23 Mar 2022, 19:18Telling the truth about what? He's doing this for the money. This is about money. I don't want to get into politics, but Usyk is a known Russian sympathiser. Everything is online if you want to know about his past.
Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua II - Summer 2022
Lomachenko has joined the Ukrainian TA’s - in the UK it’s comprised of postmen , shop assistants, civil servants and school teachers who go to a woods on a Saturday and do a bit of “running jumping climbing trees”
If the full time Ukrainian army is over run you’d knock it on the head rather than send them in.
Fair play to them both going back though . A lot would Rather live as a coward than die as a hero

But I speak to people from nations East of Ukraine every day. The perception of this war in half of the globe is very different to ours.
I don’t know Usyk’s politics, but I’m confident he doesn’t agree with Putin’s stance at the moment.
Maybe he thinks he can use the platform to get the truth across. Possibly even to the Russian population. Whilst mainstream media is highly censored, work arounds exist this and they might listen to a name they can relate to.

There's a video out there of a Russian soldier talking of his epiphany when he saw his two favourite boxers taking up arms against Russia. People underestimate the power sports stars can have, especially to people coming from a country with zero newd that diverges from the official government viewpoint.Frostieballs wrote: ↑23 Mar 2022, 19:16Maybe he can do more good using the platform and telling the truth, rather than staying and potentially getting his head blown off.

And particularly in a war where misinformation is one of the biggest weapons.jtourettes wrote: ↑24 Mar 2022, 03:50There's a video out there of a Russian soldier taking of his epiphany when he saw his two favourite boxers taking up arms against Russia. Yeah, might seem controversial but what’s the point in travelling to a part of Ukraine that isn’t really at war fare conditions YET to fight then bail to do sport before the battle comes to you?
I don’t blame him; he has a family and an amazing life. Why would anyone want to extinguish that.
It just sets him aside from the Klits and Lomachenko who are absolute heroes for remaining to stay.
I can’t see them bailing when the Russians get to Kiev or start significantly aerial bombarding it.

Indeed. My wife and her parents have had to agree not to discuss it. Her parents full on eat up the shit the Russian state media serves up to them.Frostieballs wrote: ↑24 Mar 2022, 03:52And particularly in a war where misinformation is one of the biggest weapons.jtourettes wrote: ↑24 Mar 2022, 03:50There's a video out there of a Russian soldier taking of his epiphany when he saw his two favourite boxers taking up arms against Russia. Censorship in the media and misinformation is also a huge problem in the west.

Probably went to help out family and friends. also likely got asked to for a bit of pro Ukraine publicity, and that defiantly helps.Dioufy wrote: ↑24 Mar 2022, 03:55 Yeah, might seem controversial but what’s the point in travelling to a part of Ukraine that isn’t really at war fare conditions YET to fight then bail to do sport before the battle comes to you?

I dont like the idea of usyk fighting AJ in june, feel he will be in no place to be at his best. He is a thinking boxer, dont think emotion will help. Its also a bit of a bad look, but he can probably do more for Ukrainians cause taking the fight than he can holding a rifle, Its just going to be hard to balance perception and he will have to say the right things to no get called out for "running away".

Indeed but it's nowhere near as bad as Russia
Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua II - May/June 2022
Yeah won't be doing much if any of the kidding/joking around he usually does. This is a seek and destroy mission, Joshua's best chance is to fight fire with fire from round 1.
