F W exploding on talkSPORT right now!
Re: F W exploding on talkSPORT right now!
So Whyte's lawyer says they signed a contract on condition that further talks take place as to further details - escrow etc. Depends what law governs the contract, but seems to me a significant risk that that "agreement to negotiate" is entirely unenforceable and both sides are stuck with the signed document (unless they choose to start talking again of course)

I'm not saying you are right or wrong but a bit of research online suggests the chap is extremely experienced and somewhat of a big wig in the USA, UK and elsewhere around the world.
Nothing you would want from a lawyer I saw in that clip
Fair one. I've no time for lawyers generally. Can't afford to.

Re: F W exploding on talkSPORT right now!
The most bizarre statement I heard in the exchange was that Dillian should sue his lawyer if he doesn’t get paid for this fight. Because his lawyer advised him to sign it.
Re: F W exploding on talkSPORT right now!
Wish I knew what the problem was ? Whyte is getting a massive purse and fighting for the world title which he said he wants. Less than 2 years ago he was flat on his back after getting ko'd by Povetkin so you'd think he would just get on with it instead of this nonsense

It's his way of rattling Fury. He is of the opinion his purse is set (from the bid) but that Tyson's will be based on the PPV sales. He believes that if the fight does not do pretty bug numbers there won't be any money to pay Tyson.
Re: F W exploding on talkSPORT right now!
Jesus just watched it.
Might be a successful lawyer but come across as pathetic there.
Both Jordan and Warren aren’t lawyers and had him scrambling.
Pretty obvious Whyte is playing games because he wants more money. Just sue them after the fight for any breaches Whyte makes.
Do they really need Whyte to do any pressers? Tyson handles it all himself.
If anything all the lawyer v Warren stuff is generating more interest.
This fight will see big with or without Dillian.
Fury is huge; people are coming and buying for him.

Boxing chat post covid seems to be more about purse splits, contracts and the promoters rather than fights. A sign of the times I guess

For a wee while there, Fwank was exhibiting "Shades of King"
Prime 1980's Don King talk.
I agree, that will be the last time Fwankie appears on Talk Sport. At least he went out with a bang

No coincidence that lawyer reminds me of any slimey lawyer you see in American gangster flix. Very much like Maurice Levy in The Wire!

This is true....much like politics in recent years everyone picks a side and is all in with it. Yeah it funny how the game has changed. And how much Eddie Hearn and even Kugan are the big players media wise. In the pre new media age, I never knew or cared about purse splits or who the promoters were. The fight was announced. The media would hype the fighters and the fight. You would read anything you could about the match because the info would be limited. And then you'd be buzzing by fight time. Maybe I'm a grumpy old man but I miss those daysFightnight Scores wrote: ↑25 Mar 2022, 14:18 No coincidence that lawyer reminds me of any slimey lawyer you see in American gangster flix. End of the day years down the line after a classic, no one will talk about the purse splits, the negotiations, the bulls**t, people will talk about the great rounds and punches thrown during the fight
I don't keep tabs on managerial stuff nowhere near as much as I used to,because at the end of the day,who gives a f**k, I'm interested in the fighting
Whether so and so gets X,Y or Z is frankly a very boring discussion when you look at it,and the way people get so invested in the political side like they are gaining from it all financially is bizarre

Both of them just constantly replied to one another with counter questions without answering, end of the day Whyte's lawyer should've got on writing what he's asking for now, tough tittie

Re: F W exploding on talkSPORT right now!
Is the lawyer behind all of this or is Hearn trying to sabotage the promotion from afar ? My suggestion is the latter.
Re: F W exploding on talkSPORT right now!
I suppose they could try and argue they were induced into signing the contract because of Warren's misrepresentation that further negotiations would follow to settle things like escrow and promotion, etc., and use that to say the contract should be rescinded / nullified, but I think that would be tough to succeed withBlack Sam Bellamy wrote: ↑25 Mar 2022, 15:20 Is the lawyer behind all of this or is Hearn trying to sabotage the promotion from afar ? Re: F W exploding on talkSPORT right now!
Sometimes a little detail is revealing of the bigger picture. Dillians lawyer confirmed they blocked his image going on the poster. His excuse was pathetic. It's a fight involving tens of millions, for fxxks sake. If you're gonna go as far as blocking dillians image behind the scenes, I don't trust you on anything else you have to say. That is indicative of a side just being difficult for the sake of it.
Not dillians fault. But absolutely ridiculous nonetheless.
Thanks to the poster who uploaded the link. Lively stuff.

What is mildly amusing is when folk on here start telling you what the % should be, what the revenue likely is, how much the undercard fighters are paid n all that, when they work in an office or on a building site somewhere.
Boxings fucked. I just hope this fight comes off.

Allegedly is not to be trusted but that lawyer was super slippery and was on weak ground.

Re: F W exploding on talkSPORT right now!
For the last year or so I have been wondering who the hell has been giving Whyte his legal advice, as I've watched him make bizzare decisions to sue the WBC etc.
Today, it all made sense - that Guy Bentz is well and truly out of his depth.
When challenged on the clear stipulation about social media obligations on Whyte's side, and the facts the escrow and ticket stuff wasn't in the contract, he blurted out some complete nonsense.
It was an entertaining, clown show.

You have to get up very early in the morning to catch out old fish eyes

Did this fat bastard lawyer call Frank “baby” at one point?
Loved when Jordon asked him whether the escrow was in the contract… yes or no.
Long pause….
