Yet that fight is listed as a "knockout" for Leonard.
That fight was a landmark in boxing coverage.
In earlier days, comments from former champions and current fighters were always quoted in fight write ups.
After the Leonard-Duran II fake, the media wouldn't DARE quote the comments of any former champion.

Got to remember that Jackson only lost ONE fight while in his prime and didn't lose again until he fought a bigger, stronger, younger McClellan and with terrible eyesight. Even in the McCallum fight he had the Body Snatcher in more trouble than I've ever seen, he just was young and inexperienced and got caught. I still see no way Duran beats Jackson at this weight. Jackson is not as plodding and one dimensional as people seem to think, if Norris, Graham, Milton, Baek etc could not avoid getting hit by Jackson, I don't see Duran doing it at 154. Again, Jackson by KO.

I think McCallum did way more at 154, these guys are a murderers row: Kalule, David Braxton, Milton McCrory, Donald Curry, Julian Jackson.theone wrote:Great post vicious. Hearns was haunted by the Leonard TKO. There wa sa fight where he tried to Ko a guy in the early rounds. The guy was getting a pounding but wouldn't go. Hearns starts gassing and panicking: it was pathetic. My guess is he would of been seriously ground down by the implacable McCallum & lets not forget that this was a time of 15 rounders.
