He Looks Awesome !
Honestly though, I Don't think that he should Be Boxing anymore.
55,soon to be turning 56(This June) is just pushing it Too Far, at least imo.
All that muscle on his frame, and a 55 year old cardiovascular system, just simply isn't made to be in a standard rules boxing match. I'd be concerned about over-stressing my Heart, if I were in his shoes.
That said, yeah, if we're talking about something along the lines of Tough-Man rules, (3 - one minute rounds) against similiarly aged opposition, then, by all means, keep on keeping on, till 65 !
Even though, like I stated, his Physique Looks Awesome, Absolutely Awesome !...The obvious biological Fact remains, that being 55 means that Things ""Need"" to be Modified, as far as still competing in a fighting sport. I keep thinking about Kimbo for some reason. And Randy Couture as well. Kimbo was only 42, and built similarly to Mike Tyson, and he passed due to his Heart failing him.
42 is Much Younger than 55 obviously. When you have all of that extra muscle though, and you have a natural propensity to get overzealous in you're sport, this type of thing(Combination of factors) is A Big-Time Risk for a Coronary episode, whether it's a fatal one, or a survivable one, in which was the case for Randy Couture, who was 54 or 55 at the time of his H.A a few years ago. That said, I am Sincerely and Genuinely Concerned for Mike at this point in time. It would be So Sad to see something like that happen to him.
He will choose to do what he will want to choose to do though, obviously.
My sincere advice to him would be to keep on working out, but with discernment. There is no such thing as Truly turning back the clock. You may "Look Awesome", at 55,65,75,etc,etc, but when all is said and done, competing in standard boxing matches is Way Too Risky to his Coronary system at this point in time. Especially while carrying around all of that Extra Muscle Weight.
