He’s got several fighters that have potential to be fighting for world titles in the next 12 months (Buatsi, Cordina at Super Feather, Josh Kelly if he wins well against Avanesyan, Okolie is clearly fighting for a title in his next fight, Martin J Ward) and others that may get back into the world title fight mix (Kal Yafai, Callum Smith and now Josh Warrington).
Still another 18 days left for your prediction to come true.

Huge night for Eddie as he doubles his tally. The grappling of Big Lawrence and the head work of Warrington should provide a huge boost for app sales.

We sometimes get these things on Sky Box Office down under. DAZN hasn't done too well down here, we don't get all the fights they do in the northern hemisphere.
Stupid isn't it?

Its a madness ay. I have DAZN and only use it for goldenboy fights. Matchroom fights end up on KAYO... a different streaming platform. Fuking global platform.... (hope its still 3 bucks a month because im not getting much out of it).

Eddie sometimes talks like a free agent fighter is his, as if Eddie has read one of those self help books that make you affirm what you want and it happens.
In poor Eddie's case, it just makes him look like a bit of a d*ck.

Haney years back started his own promo company so I’ll bet you his promo company makes it onto the fight poster for his fight vs Kambosos.

Back years ago when Eddie had Crolla and Bellew etc he said then most of the guys he had were on fight by fight deals, essentially making them free agents. I thought back then that must be risky as hell, ok Matchroom are big dogs right now but things always change.

I guess you can use the narrative that he is weak for not having all these guys tied down but at the end of the day Kambosos v Haney is happening as a direct result of Haney having that freedom. So by that definition is it not actually a good thing? Everyone here knows it’s a two fight deal and if he loses to Kambosos or beats him twice he will be straight back with Matchroom. If Crawford and Spence had been on fight by fight deals would we have seen that fight by now? Or Charlo and Munguia and all the other fights that never happen that f uck us all off? I think more would have happened.

I wonder whether Sam Jones and Ben Schlong will have guys signed up to their dieing day or go the fight by fight if you don’t want to be with me f uck you style.

I like the idea of fight by fight, good faith dealings... But, if your maximising profit i dont know if its a win. The real trick is you do UFC shenanigans. Get a prospect on a 5 fight contract, Then make it really hard for them to get there last fight unless they sign an extention. Repeat forever.

DAZN is great for boxing, but I just dont see how it can be a viable financial model.

Three of my mates in the UK who are on a sports forum with me said they were suprised Warrington v Kiko wasn`t on TV. One of them said "I think its on DAZN" and the other one said "What`s that?"

These are hardcore sports fans but not specifically boxing. They watch boxing but not like I do. I was shocked that they had never really heard of DAZN. If blokes like them have no idea about DAZN, then the pure casual would have no chance.

Give it a year or two and Eddie will be out of there. It doesnt have the platform in the UK to market itself properly to the casual.

Eddie clealry said at DAZN`s boxing launch that we would get 12 PPV worthy cards included in the subscription and 4 mega cards a year where every fight would be worthy of stand alone PPV. All this was supposed to be included in the monthly subscription cos PPV was dead.

Now we havent seen anything like this, and I dont recall one mega fight card to date. Now we are told that just one mega fight (Canelo and/or AJ) HAS to be PPV as its the only model that can work.

Hearn is s snake oil salesman and I have lost so much respect for that bloke over the past few years. No one seems to have the balls to put this on him and have hm admit he was wrong (which he never will)

I`m going with Schlong :) far less ego, at least for now

I think the approach works with US based fighters. Team Mayweather openly say they want to keep things in house and the rest of PBC are similar too. Eddie’s also really pissed off Lou DiBella which probably doesn’t make things easy.

To get the fight Haney’s supposedly getting less money than he has for recent fights, has to fight in Australia in back-to-back fights and then fights Loma. Fair play to him for going after hard challenges but I’d imagine if he does win the first fight then he’ll move up not long afterwards.

Tank meanwhile is fighting yet another PBC in-house fighter.

I’m sure Eddie will be annoyed it’s not his show/not on DAZN but it’s the fight he’s wanted and it tidied up the division so I’d be surprised if he’s against it.

Kambossis won the title on DAZN and Eddie developed a man crush on his dad. He was talking like the next fight being on DAZN as a shoe in.

Lou Di Bella wasnt happy with that and has acted accordingly. Hearn in the washer right now.

With Joshua looking like he will fight on SKY all eddies eggs are on Canelo.

DiBella would also be pissed off with the Taylor/Serrano fight as he was with Serrano for ages yet delivered very little and there’s been criticism from Eddie/Jake Paul as to what she was making.

Lou has put 2 & 1/2 years into Kambosos. He put a lot of faith and money into what was an obscure Australian fighter (without a famous boxer dad) moved him stateside, put a good team around him and gave him opportunity.
I was surprised at the signing, and followed Kambosos to see what Lou saw, and honestly Kambosos has improved every fight.
I believe Kambosos owes Lou a lot.

To be honest I don’t think fighters should be loyal to promoters unless they can deliver them the fights they want and pay them well.

Lou has done a decent job for George but he’d have been well compensated for it. He hasn’t promoted George’s last couple of fights and would have got 20% for not doing much promotion/spending much money.
