re this fight yes i agree Hearn will want Saudi for the site fee, f_ck jordan he’s a straight up clown

This fight in Saudi is a slap in the face. It’ll sell out any arena here… yet might make a bit more money there with a soulless atmosphere.
I was lucky enough to be at the 1st fight… it would be nice if Hearn gives it to the fans here.

If it’s a bit more money then they won’t bother. If it’s an additional $50m in the pot then it’s difficult to argue against it.
Ultimately it’s up to the fighters. Hearn/Krassyuk will give them options but it’s their responsibility to maximise the potential income for the fight.
AJ won’t have an issue with Saudi and I’d be surprised if Usyk does too if it’s significantly more money.

You’re probably right tbh. Even a 50mil site fee generates more than ticket sales I’d imagine.maverick23 wrote: ↑30 Mar 2022, 16:07If it’s a bit more money then they won’t bother. If it’s an additional $50m in the pot then it’s difficult to argue against it.

Just can’t beat stadium fights in the UK when they’re done right.

I agree but ultimately they’re prize fighters and if there’s a significant difference in their purses from fighting somewhere else then that’s where they’ll look to go.Dioufy wrote: ↑30 Mar 2022, 16:15You’re probably right tbh. Ali/Foreman fought in Zaire for $5m a piece (over $30m in today’s numbers). A country with a leader with a questionable past and supposedly the funds (at least according to Don King) were paid by Colonel Gaddafi.
Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua II - Summer 2022
Bad look for Usyk to agree to it though. Gone from ‘fighting the Russians’ to taking the fight to a soulless arena for an extra 2/3mil dollars.
Should be in England with the fight-theme very Ukrainian to bring even more attention to the plight of the Ukrainian population.
Just my opinion, mind.

For what I’ve read/listened to the deal for this fight is far closer to 50/50 than the financials for their first fight so if they are looking at a $100m rights fee then Usyk would be well within his rights to accept it.

He can do what he wants, fight where he wants, ect… but without doubt true patriotism is standing and fighting for what you believe in and doing what so many Ukrainians in Ukraine are doing.
And now he’s potentially going to make millions off the back of a state that in ways isn’t that different from communist Russia.
Seems a little hypocritical to me.
If he was against this… Klimas and Krassuk would be all over social media denying it…
It’s not like they’re shrinking violets on there…

There’s a ton of countries up to no good. If not Saudi then where ? UK ? We’re hardly role models when it comes to dumping on other countries during our empirical past. Why would Usyk want the fight here ?HomicideHenry wrote: ↑30 Mar 2022, 13:27 Why the hell is it always Saudi Arabia?![]()

F*ck the past grievance nonsense. Are you presently dumping on other countries like imperialists? Far as I know of no. So it's a false comparison.daz74 wrote: ↑30 Mar 2022, 17:40There’s a ton of countries up to no good. If not Saudi then where ? UK ? Besides, it didn't bother Usyk winning the belts in England so why would it bother doing the return match in England?
Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua II - Summer 2022
Yeah that’s fine… but again, I reiterate, that’s what sets him aside from his best mate Lomachenko,

Last time in England Usyk was the challenger, as the champ he might be less keen to come here again …..
Just speculating, could well be wrong …

It's a shame nothing has happened to the worst offenders to discourage further embarrassing things.
Well, nothing of consequence.
