Morrison's conditioning was superior vs. Foreman, but not in other fights.

Even the great Joe Louis couldn't stop Galento until the 4th -- and that was after being staggered in the first and dropped in the third. Galento was only stopped 6 times (26 losses), mostly on cuts. Galento was a brutal slugger who even dropped a number of the boxers who beat him. He beat some good fighters, and the only ones to beat him in his prime were Arturo Godoy, Joe Louis, Max and Buddy Baer. Brutal, and not your cleanest rules of Queensbury man, but no, not "trash."

Others will know better -- was Louis the only boxer to drop Galento?

At 5'9", 233, fighting out of a similar crouch with leaping left hooks, I wonder how he would have fared against Marciano.

Both men bringing their A+ game, no excuses, etc--- Morrison stops Galento somewhere after the fourth round. Probably due to cuts. Galento was a very tough man but he wouldn't make it far today because he was so wide open eating punches that he only would have had a career in a much earlier era when referees weren't so squeamish because he swelled/cut pretty bad.

I think a compliment from Joe Louis kind of sums up Galento, where he said if he existed in the bare knuckle days he would have been the champion of the world. Not because that era was inferior to the 1930s-1940s but because it was anything goes.

well joe was slow and stiff tom moved way better them him and hit harder tom never would be hit by tony so that comparison makes no sense

that shows the advances in eras tony never would make it out of amateurs to get to a tom that man was so trash
