So do I, Tam! Looking forward to it!
You reckon Whytes going down mate?
Yeah. I don't think it'll be an early night. I know Povetkin one shotted him but his other KO loss, against Joshua, he took a proper hiding throughout that fight before finally succumbing (it surprises me that people remember it as competitive because he hurt AJ briefly: he got beaten up, basically) and he got up against Rivas and Parker, didn't he?

I reckon he'll last into the mid rounds, and maybe get stopped in the 8th?

I thought he looked good in the first Povetkin fight, like he'd actually learned something and was justifying his ranking. Can't tell anything from the rematch, and we never got to see him against Wallin so I don't know what he's going to bring.

He hasn't fought in over a year and must surely be ring rusty? Was there even a crowd for Povetkin 2? This is going to be quite the atmosphere, and he hasn't endeared himself to the boxing public recently. He's not getting cheered, that's for sure. You'd have to wonder how he's going to deal with that.

I'll have to watch some of his fights again to give myself a bit of a reminder of how he fights before I put a bet on.

What do you reckon?
I feel the same about Whyte mate. He’s a plodder with a decent dig but nothing amazing.

With Fury, only times I’ve been impressed tbh is vs Wilder. Who knows what can happen. Won’t be surprised if it’s sloppy and boring.

I doubt it'll be a classic, and it's mad that it's this big considering it's only Dillian Whyte. But we haven't had Tyson fight here for a while, and it's exciting to have the big fat Gypsy pig in front of us again. It's one of them, isn't it? Boxing is one of my favourite things, and so I have to be there for this. It feels oddly important, especially as the past couple of years have been so drab.

Minimum 20,000. I know loads going. And others who don't even pretend to be one. Supporting Fury doesn't mean you want to be a gypsy.

So 1 in 3 of the traveller/gypsy males between the ages of 15 and 55 in the country have not only decided to go to this fight but have managed to secure almost 25% of the tickets despite only making up 0.4% of the population?

Yep - especially in the current economic environment. High inflation, cost of fuel and heating being extremely high and national insurance rises now kicking in. I’ll be very surprised if it does more than a million buys. More people than ever will be looking for streams for it I think.

It could well have been held in Saudi, as will many huge UK fights in the future may end up there. If it was Eddie it would likely be over there.
So good on you for supporting it, and showing these promotors that there is a willing audience at home.

Agreed mate and I’m not trying to diminish the fight etc. I hope it’s great and he’s one of our best heavies just now so it’s well worth being there. Dillian is still Tyson’s 3rd best opponent and might even be better than Wilder in all honesty. I hope it’s good fun 👍🏼👍🏼

Why sorry mate? Dubai’s not Saudi. It’s alright here, woman do what they like and folk are generally chilled. Nothing like what I’ve heard Saudi is like. I’ve never been tho so I could be wrong.

Plus am just here temporarily trying to make a buck or ten.

I know, but you would have a decent chance of easily and cheaply going to the big ones held over there if you wanted.
I'm sure if Josh Taylor (pre Catterall) was fighting in Saudi you would get along. Not now obviously

How many gypsies are there in the UK? And how many are of the age and type that would go to this fight? I've spoken to several in the last few weeks and none of them are going. There'll be tens of thousands of "plastic tinkers" I'll give you that.
Surprises me that. I only know a couple of gypsy lads but they’re both making a weekend of it with a few mates.

Generally speaking I would’ve thought that the homecoming fight of a great champion who proudly represents his community would have every man and his dog wanting to be there especially given that Whyte is a live opponent.

Will be interesting to see whether the right levels of security are in place. Not kids from the agencies. Otherwise there will be plenty of ticketless low life getting inside the stadium , and plenty of trouble inside. If it's anything like the usual Queensbury event, then expect carnage.

Something that dosent make sense... Fwank claims Yarde was ment to be undercard, and anderson vs hammer.... but then claims there isnt money for the undercard and thats why its not great.

Surely the money free'd up from losing yarde, anderson and hammer would be able to Buy 3 or 4 really good 50-50 british/euro title fights.
