It looks like FW's stable is threadbare as they have the Derby show coming up too so god knows who will be on that show. At least Eddie can pad it out with the birds and say they've got world title fights on but this is an awful undercard for a PPV.

I think it will do very well here in the UK but it needs to for Queensbury to make it stack up. Do you not see that? It's definitely going to do big numbers domestically. Internationally I don't see it doing particularly well.

Are Bill Joe Saunders and his (extended) family and travelling friends going to the fight? Not heard much from him on it, have you?

BJS has done hardly any media for nearly a year.
The fight will surely be shown across the world?

Bill's just posted a video of a Sri Lankan bloke singing a song badly. No doubt he'll delete it when he realises people don't like micro-aggressive racism anymore.

It's not a big fight anywhere other than here. Whyte isn't well regarded overseas. Banged out by Povetkin and easily beaten by Joshua. You know it's an easy night for Tyson, so do I. So does everyone who isn't British. Here the hype train can work it's magic, not so much elsewhere. America won't pay big money for this, not with no American interest. Europe won't pay. Australia/Kiwi won't pay. So where is the money coming from?

Big numbers here though. Maybe a record.

a force wrote: 08 Apr 2022, 08:13 Probably a different argument but I don’t think there’s enough talent in the UK for 4 promoters to be able to put on good cards. Hearn’s still ok at the minute as he’ll have lots of fighters under contract but you’ve got Warren, Boxxer & Probellum all struggling to put on good cards
It's a good argument to make. There were only 2 promoters with any financial backing in Hearn and Warren for a while with the likes of Hennessy and a few others picking up the pieces on a national level.

With Hearn seemingly trying to focus on mostly global events and the Sauerlands having a mostly European stable, there will be some guys left to get signed. I don't see them all surviving the next decade though otherwise we will get diluted cards. Atleast we can hope they can all work together for some events.

So what do people think Whytes logic is? Trying to get inside Tyson's head? That won't happen, Fwank looks stressed with it all, though! Avoiding Tyson doing his head in? Behind the scenes problems? Fwank did seem pretty confident arguing with a barrister live on national radio. If Whyte even has the slightest doubt he isn't getting paid, there's a problem. Hearn very quiet as well at the minute. He's more than aware Wazza has a pretty good record in the courts if he starts talking shite.

Perhaps a bit like how Wilder approached fight 3 - don't try and play Fury at his own game. Wilder at least turned up though

I think it’s self preservation for Whyte as if he and Fury were verbally exchanging he’d hammered and would end up going for Tyson.

He’ll also want to get Frank back for the joy he showed singing when Whyte lost to Povetkin and talking him down over the years.

I’m sure he’ll be in great shape come the fight and give himself the best chance to win. Still unlikely though unless Father Time has caught up with Tyson.

May not have got into Tyson's head, but Whyte is living rent free in Fwank's head :OhYes:

“Our point of communication is with Jeff Benz, and Jeff Benz is absolutely ridiculous in where he’s at,” Warren said. “All he keeps doing is going off center, off course, coming up with other stuff that’s not in the contract.

"All I want Dillian Whyte to do is what is in the contract, nothing more, nothing less. Up to now he has not done that. He’s in breach. He’s not done that.”

I'm pretty sure Whyte has done what is in his contract, maybe the bare minimum - and all under legal advisement - but with 43 million on the hook, Fwank is getting antsie

I hope you don’t mind me butting in, but the undercard is what it is really. I’m not going to go after Bricktop as they have wacked so much money on the main event. Plus he/BT have never done a fight this size before, and he’s also got Frillian Whyte Knickers not promoting it, so I can understand him going conservative with the undercard.

They lost Jared Anderson who was in a decent fight TBF to them.
Lowe - Ball should be a fun action fight. I like Adeleye and Chris Healy has solid enough chin, so we should get a good 8 rounder. Cacace -Romero should be a good matchup.

Maybe it’s because I’ve never liked Whyte but…

He’s an absolute fool to mess with Warren over a contract in a fight this big. I don’t care who his lawyer is. If he fucks Warren over by being petty Warren will mess his purse up badly. He’s not above folding company’s to do so. With a fight costing this much, it’s definitely a possibility.

Whyte should do his bit, however small, to promote the biggest fight of his career. He just makes himself look, to me at least, like a bitch behaving like this.

Whytes logic is two fold i think...

1, Not make frank extra money. He didnt like his split, and has a set purse. Any promo he does goes strait in franks pocket (who he hates). Would you do extra work for someone you really dislike... (this breaks down though recently when you take into acount getting sued or having purses withheld, at that point its really not worth it, at that point you put in some lazy promo work to cover you in court, But i havent, and noone iv talked to has seen the contract, the assumption is its standard WBC, but havent seen that confirmed so we dont know if he should be nervousee about that, he just has to trust his knob lawyer).

2. Win the fight. 2nd part i think is whyte wants to win. To have any chance he needs to be perfectly prepared phisicaly and mentaly. Part of that is staying in portugal and focusing. If i was a trainer there would be no smart phones in camp, just old nokias.... Whyte staying of socials seems wise. Going to the press confrence (apart from not wanting to get covid on the plane) is a huge distraction, you remove yourself from camp, miss training, and lose the war of words with fury, Most likely come out of that less confident than you enter it.

Everything whyte is doing makes perfect sense if (and only if) he is confident he is for-filling his legal obligations... I said befor, he should of skyped into that press confrence with a bad conection... would of been unusable promotion, but would have looked like he was making a reasonable effort in this weird times.

What are you talking about Mate..it was still Mike Tyson, one of the most famous and recognisable names in the world..

I remember at the time when Frank was trying to bring him over the first time, it sparked a massive political/mainstream debate what with Mike not long being out of the big house.

It might not have been in a 90k off arena, but it was a far bigger deal bringing Tyson over IMHO.

Bigger than this was the statement.
Tyson was on a downward spiral at the time, more famous to the general public (as you say) as a convicted rapist and part time cannibal. His value was diminished enough for Fwank to bring him over. Tyson really didn't have many options at the time.

Mike shut down areas wherever he went. Josh Warrington at Elland Road was huge in Yorkshire. Benn-McLellan, god knows how many Naz fights....Barerra-Morales.... hundreds more. You're talking like he's never put on a show before!

What can be said about the undercard. A selection of Fury's friends and family with domestic level profiles being matched against opponents knocking on the door of the top 200 of their respective weight classes.

It might wet the appetite of the Queensbury hardcore, but the card doesn't start 'til 5am where I am, so it's not something to get out of bed for.

Good luck to the fighters on the undercard, hope they make the best of their opportunity, but not for me thanks

Too be honest theres not that many fights will get me to part with my hard earned , usually because there crap fights , we know the results before and are not 50-50 figts so no thanks i'll keep my 50 bucks and go stream it ... Do i feel bad streaming and robbing the fighters do i hell has like , ,, Stuff em my attitude is simple , put your hand in my back pocket steal my wallet ,, if i find its you i'll burn ya fooking house down ,

But with saying that if its a good 50-50 fight and i can't pick a winner i will not risk a stream going down i'll shell out the money , sometimes you can pick a winner but you know its gonna be good and theres a good undercard so i'll still shell out .
But in this case really what do you have , undercard first , Tommy fooking Fury , a glamor boy from reality tv who's only on because his brother is main event , c'mon Britains got better than that , alongst with a bunch of others not even british title material , Then the main event , Fury against WHO Dillan Whyte Ok Dillan is a name but how good is he really he's a kickboxer with a left hook , talent wise he's just a little notch above cHISORA .

oVERALL WHEN YOU LOOK AT IT THIS FIGHT IS'NT REALLY WORTHY OF PPV unless IT HAD A GREAT UNDERCARD TO SUPPORT IT ,,, so that leaves me in the position do i buy it or not ,, the answer is NO , maybee Fwank felt the need to kiss Furys ass and over pay him but not with my money , Fury is'nt worth this sort of money and his brother is not worthy of being on the show ,

Want my money give me value for money ,,,, I tink Franks been very lucky Dillan has took the route he has , its gave them massive publicity and created massive interest .

Just hopw when Fwank refuses to pay him , Dillan wins the court case has well

Agreed. I'm just surprised Wembley sold out. It makes me wonder who else could sell out Wembley. Are the people just going to turn up for a lot of fights? I think Brook Khan could have sold out Wembley. Maybe the bar is low.

As far as buying this fight goes, not a chance from me either.

Regarding Tommy Fury, most people, me included, would expect a youtuber in Jake Paul to beat him.

Totally agree on your Whyte comments too.

You really think Cacace/Romero is a good matchup?

Also Healey has gone 1-1 in 2 close fights with Danny Whitaker in the last 2 years. The same guy Adeleye stopped in his 4th fight. It’s another mismatch unless I’m missing something.

The Lowe/Ball fight will be worth a watch though. 👍
