According to the April 24, 1987 edition of Newsday, Pazienza boke his nose on April 18, 1987 and that caused the scheduled(May 24, 1987) bout with Haugen to be postponed.

Don't know about sparring, but he re-broke it in the fight. He also broke it in their second fight, by the third fight he had learned to box Haugen from the outside.vatech1983 wrote: ↑06 Apr 2022, 19:05 Their first fight was postponed due to a broken nose of Paz. Re: Vinnie Paz vs Greg Haugen...........
Fun fights. I had Haugen winning the first two fights. Paz had a great rally in the first fight that made it very close and certainly not a robbery. Haugen won second decently. Paz outboxed him from the outside the third. Both had good careers. Haugen high was upsetting Camacho. Paz won a jr middle belt and fought many legends.

Watching the first bout live I had Pazienza ahead but I've seen it twice on replay and I scored it for Haugen both times.

Just watched a short haugen docu. He also seemed to get in his head for the third fight and was mad and went for the KO and played into Paz’s hands.hhaehre wrote: ↑07 Apr 2022, 02:17Don't know about sparring, but he re-broke it in the fight. Haugen was apparently pretty good in the toughman competitions, often fighting huge lumberjack types
