Good to see Golovkin showing his hosts the due respect.

Murata is also a class act, nice to see him looking relaxed.

There's simply no need to hype this one up.

I think we all have a good idea of what they're bringing to this epic fight. Five or six years ago Murata would have had little chance, but this is a 40 year old Golovkin he's now facing.

There's simply no way of avoiding the fact this 2022 GGG would probably not survive 12 rounds against his 2016 counterpart, nevermind the one from 2012.

Golovkin looks very shredded.

I think he'd stop Murata in 10-11 rounds. :box:

at the moment of posting this, 1/8 is the widest anyone has for ggg on the aforementioned oddschecker, not the average.

there's even 3/10 being offered if we wwanna cherry pick the other way.

out of 20 bookies, only 2 have it as wide 1/8. aint it funny how that was the number to show up

3/10
2/9 (x5)
1/5
2/11 (x3)
1/6 (x6)
2/13 (x2)
1/8 (x2)

The odds are obviously changing all the time, but forgive me if I’m wrong, in terms of implied probably… aren’t some of those fractions you’ve cited very similar to each other?

1/8 = 89%
2/11 = 85%
1/6 = 86%
2/13 = 87%
1/5 = 84%

I’ve just checked one of my old posts and it seems GGG is as heavily-favoured to beat Murata as Mayweather Jr. was to defeat McGregor.

To be honest, whilst I expect GGG to beat the Japanese fighter with consummate ease, the betting odds are still too wide for my liking.

I remembering year 2012, when GGG debuted in USA against Gregor Proksa and Murata won gold in London. Time flies :(

Brutal fight stopped in round 11 after a clash of heads left Masayuki Ito unable to continue, Shuichiro Yoshino wins a technical decision (106-103, 107-102, 107-102). Great opener.
