What next for Vergil Ortiz Jr (and where is he?)

Not seen any activity on his social media for a few weeks now. is he still recovering from the illness? any word on future bouts? big fan of Ortiz and not liking the radio silence. hopefully nothing to worry about.

Ortiz is expected to recover 100% after being diagnosed with Rhabdomyolysis. (a breakdown of muscle tissue that releases the damaging protein myoglobin into the blood, which can lead to kidney damage.)

It was affecting his balance during training, and was dropping weight too fast, according to his father. Ironically, n a different article I read, Ortiz mentioned the trouble he is having to make the 147lb limit, so we may see him at 154 possibly.

ODH of Goldenboy said they will see him back in action soon.

Bump for this… I’m really curious as everyone was saying he’s the new boogeyman at 147. I think he had a great fight last time out and proved he can bang toe to toe. Some those shots he ate would have FOR SURE sat the 140, and most 147 guys down in my opinion.
