i think i saw the moment lubin's jaw broke, he got hit and then sort of looked down and felt his face and was like 'wtf?'
man that fight was good, i'll say it again but the 7th was incredible

man im still getting that high from this fight, even though fundy screwed my prediction
Re: Erickson Lubin vs. Sebastian Fundora | Showtime - April 9, 2022
Decent fight. I had low expectations of Fundora because of his previous match. Anyway, this showdown was close and Lubin had a lot of good moments. Fundora still doesn't try to use his anthropometrics and remains vulnerable.

fundora is best on the inside, most vulnerable on the outside. it's not always best for a tall guy to fight at a distance. his uppercuts and pace are by far his best weapon
lubin had the right idea in round 1 to jab to the body and move around the outside, but he couldnt keep the lanky goofball off him

If Fundora wasn't that vulnerable inside, then it would be fair to say, that he could abandon outside game. Yes, his uppercuts are good, but he always receives a lot of punishment. He went life-and-death vs Lubin, he could be given a loss in the previous fight and had problems even earlier against the nonames he had eventually KOed in toe-to-toe affairs.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑10 Apr 2022, 03:36 fundora is best on the inside, most vulnerable on the outside. it's not always best for a tall guy to fight at a distance. his uppercuts and pace are by far his best weapon

Re: Erickson Lubin vs. Sebastian Fundora | Showtime - April 9, 2022
nah, by far his biggest success is on the inside. that's where he takes over the fight. when he has issues it's when the opponents get some distance on him and aren't being uppercutted to oblivion. lubin did best in rounds when looby had distance to jab to the body and avoid the uppers, and he dropped fundora with winging long shots, not short ones in close. notice the difference between round 1 (lubin jabbing outside) and round 2 (lubin trading inside, dropped by uppercuts)
if he started from day 1 in the boxing gym focusing on using his length at a distance it might be another story, but as it is he's way better inside than outside. it's not as simple as tall = should fight outside. he's obviously developed as more of an inside pressure fighter and his height gives him much better opportunities for the uppercut than shorter fighters have

There are some examples of fighters, who were able to rebuild their entire games successfully, but there should be a lot of effort and talent for that, so maybe it's indeed better for Fundora to focus on what he can already do, because he hasn't looked too talented up to the date. However, his current style is a proved risk for him.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑10 Apr 2022, 04:28 nah, by far his biggest success is on the inside. that's where he takes over the fight. when he has issues it's when the opponents get some distance on him and aren't being uppercutted to oblivion. lubin did best in rounds when looby had distance to jab to the body and avoid the uppers, and he dropped fundora with winging long shots, not short ones in close. notice the difference between round 1 (lubin jabbing outside) and round 2 (lubin trading inside, dropped by uppercuts)

Great fight Lubin has massive stones, dropped heavily in the 2nd by a pretty big uppercut and was struggling, got hit by multiple uppercuts in the. 7th before turning things around in spectacular fashion by battering Fundora to the canvas, quality stuff, props to Kev Cunningham though that's great corner work, Lubin's puss was a messy
