Why was Bernstien nuthugging Lubins trainer so much?
Seems like the coach was telling Lubin how to do everything except HOW TO DEFEND AGAINST THE UPPERCUT

If Lubin would've moved around Fundora and turned him like his coach said, he wouldn't be there for the uppercut.Luckybattles wrote: ↑10 Apr 2022, 12:19 Seems like the coach was telling Lubin how to do everything except HOW TO DEFEND AGAINST THE UPPERCUT

Yeah, but he was exhausted from all the pressure and mass of Fundrora after just a few rounds. Im guessing that punching up was probably tiring too. Lubin ran out of gas early. Maybe overtrained. Asking him to be Lomachenco was probably not realistic. An alternate strategy would have been to step into Fundora and smother the uppercut. Naturally, fundora needed space to throw that punch with those long ass arms and Lubin stood right in the sweet spot for it. This would have been easier for Lubin and possibly better tailored for his offensive style and heavy legs.

He wasn't asking him to be Lomachenko, he was just asking him to use basic movements and angles. We saw Lubin move in plenty of fights. He's not purely a stand in front of you boxer.Luckybattles wrote: ↑11 Apr 2022, 14:08 Yeah, but he was exhausted from all the pressure and mass of Fundrora after just a few rounds. lubin fought the first round great, exactly how you should fight fundora. couldnt miss the jab to the body. moving and staying outside to avoid the uppercuts. won the round easily
but from the 2nd on, he only fought that way in spots, and never was able to put together a full round of it again. fundora has a way of just shutting guys movement down. another thing is that a lot of guys elect to stand inside and trade with him, maybe thinking it must be to their advantage since they are the shorter guy, when in reality despite his freak height he's most dangerous inside
