Diamante's replacement
Re: Diamante's replacement
Boxing fans need to call B.S on guys like this more often.
The sport attracts the weirdest charlatans of any sport imo.

I agree. Just sad that he still seemed to think it was clever to have smashed someone's face in and was desperate to keep emphasising it. As for Diamante, fck me, bizarre fellaBoxerbeetle wrote: ↑08 Apr 2022, 16:51 I didn’t really find the Towers stories difficult to believe tbh, the guy did serious time and is an absolute unit, it’s hardly unlikely that he’d be regularly involved in trouble.

I mean, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that a guitarist of a band would like to learn, and has access to some drums. But how Big Dave was the man to teach him I don't know?mickey1975 wrote: ↑08 Apr 2022, 06:04 It was a red flag when he said he taught Kirk from Metallica to play the drums. I googled him, he's a guitarist....
Sounds like "transitioning" is one of the few things in life he hasn't done, so who knows, watch this space....

I thought this guy was on his death bed a few months ago? He looks fit as a fiddle now.

Just looked at his Instagram. He’s incredibly well traveled so fair play… but he’s 50 and he’s posting pics like a 17 year old girl who is yet to give oral sex and is desperate to try.
I like him as an announcer. Personally I find him noncey.

He's obviously been reading social media. Interesting set of tweets he's put out.

Looks like it’s a case of the boy who cried wolf.
People will still think it’s all fake but when you say your arm fell off and was reattached and stuff like that there will always be doubters.

He’s posted several photos and videos today on Twitter showing his injuries and X-rays

In Diamante’s defence, some doctors do like to exaggerate potential severity of injuries or conditions (particularly US doctors, maybe they just want to give people the sense of value for money over there, since they pay so much for care). It’s something I noticed a lot during Covid - if you listened to the doctors, some of them would have you thinking it was a near guaranteed death sentence, rather than something which most people would survive with ease.

Yeah but I think he helped create some of the doubt with some of his previous statements. They may have been true but it made it sound like life threatening injuries were a frequent problem for him. It takes very little nowadays for people to disbelieve you.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑13 Apr 2022, 05:47 In Diamante’s defence, some doctors do like to exaggerate potential severity of injuries or conditions (particularly US doctors, maybe they just want to give people the sense of value for money over there, since they pay so much for care). I had no reason really to doubt what he said about his recent injuries because I could well believe he could be back announcing after 10-12 weeks. Would have taken a lot of effort, luck, physio and pain killers but I saw it as being eminently possible. It didn’t even bother me that he hadn’t posted much on social about it or did a spin or something during a recent show. However when he read his statement on his previous injuries it does make you question it.

Yes I was the same. I had no reason to disbelieve him, as I said in earlier posts it didn't seem like the "miracle" lots of people thought it was to be back doing his job. It's only when I read what he said about an older accident that his arm came off, that sounded too far fetched and that made me question the seriousness of it all this time around.maverick23 wrote: ↑13 Apr 2022, 06:16
