Charlo should still be facing better opposition though.
In terms of Andrade and Benavidez, they're both hype jobs that seem to be praised for consistently facing poor opposition.
I can't take either guy seriously until they face a serious opponent.

Yup thats true. Like gregregegg said, G would have to throw some sneaky "unintentionally" heavy blows on Canelo's nuts to avoid a beating.
The question is if G would get disqualified for that, would he still get that big-fat cheque?

I think Canelo has received more help from the judges than Mayweather did. You could even see this when Mayweather fought Canelo with the judges making it seem closer than it really was.

canelo talks rematch now.......but im not so sure this gets dropped
if anything, it makes it seem more competitive with canelo losing. gives canelo a way to get back on the winning streak too.
though he is a dude who challenges himself, so can see him really going through with a bivol rematch
ggg prob not happy with this result!

Hearn says this fight has become bigger.
“It’s still a huge fight,” Hearn said of Canelo-Golovkin III in an interview with IFL TV. “Funnily enough, the Golovkin fight becomes bigger now because people give Golovkin a chance of winning the fight. Before it was all like, ‘Oh, he’s 39 he’s 40, he’s not going to win the fight.’ Now people look at that performance and say, ‘OK, maybe Golovkin’s got more chance. So that’s a massive fight, as is the [Bivol] rematch.”
“If he would’ve beaten Dmitry Bivol people would’ve said the Golovkin fight, ‘he’s a huge favorite now,’” Hearn said. “He’s (Alvarez) still the favorite. It’s a huge fight. We’ll see.”

Canelo Indicates Golovkin Trilogy Is Next, Then Bivol Rematch
Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez has indicated that he will likely move forward with a scheduled trilogy fight against Gennadiy Golovkin in the month of September.
Earlier this year, Canelo signed a two-fight agreement with Eddie Hearn of Matchroom and DAZN - with the first bout being a light heavyweight title fight against WBA champion Dmitry Bivol, which took place earlier this month - and then Canelo would make a defense of the undisputed super middleweight crown against Golovkin in September.
Bivol shocked the world when he outboxed Canelo over twelve rounds to secure a unanimous decision win.
Canelo has the ability to exercise an immediate rematch clause, but most observers expected him to face Golovkin next - and that appears to be his next move.
"Surely yes [about fighting Golovkin next]. We already had that contract, that agreement, so we have to continue what we started and I think those are the two biggest fights in boxing, the fight with Golovkin and the rematch with Bivol. Unfortunately we lost, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to try again. The important thing here is perseverance and we're going to do it again," said Canelo at a press conference, which took place on Monday to promote a business venture, according to ESPN Deportes.
"What is certain is that we are going to return in September. And in the coming days... today, tomorrow, the day after, we are going to announce the fight, we just have to wait a little bit."
Canelo and Golovkin fought to a controversial twelve round split draw in 2017. A year later, Canelo captured fought his way to a close twelve round majority decision. Both fights took place at middleweight.
This time around, Golovkin - who holds the WBA, IBO, IBF middleweight titles - will head up to 168 to challenge Canelo for his undisputed crown.
During the media event, Canelo also responded to a recent statement from his former promoter, Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions, who said the Mexican star's last performance was hindered because he was too focused on playing golf.
"That has nothing to do with it. It is better to love another sport than other things," Canelo said.

Looks like Saul wants to get back into the W column, then challenge Bivol on a Win, rather than a loss.

That would be very good. Beterbiev has to get past smith jr first, over whom he will be a big favourite. But that is the fight to see, bivol v beterbiev, 2 great guys, classic boxer v puncher.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑23 May 2022, 15:12 now we can have the undisputed lhw fight - hopefully bivy's side dont hold off in order to wait on a canelo rematch
Ggg still has his power and 2 titles. But will be a big underdog at this point, perhaps deserves a final big payday and chance to avenge his only loss.
Re: Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez vs. Gennadiy 'GGG' Golovkin III - DAZN PPV - September 2022
Think for once GGG should hold Canelo to ransom , demand the higher pay , dictate the weight ,, Canelo now needs a win but not any win he needs a good high profile win ,, forget the rematch with Bivol , he bit of more than he can chew and they know that , Bivol is just too big and too good .
Does'nt leave many it leaves GGG in a better bargaining position , after all doubt GGG has much longer left in him

Assuming the winner of beterbev and Joe smith jr dont take too much damage, a quickish turn around for LHW Undisputed a couple of weeks after Canelo vs GGG III would be premium. Build of the canelo fight hype.
Going to be hard to pump that kinda money into a russia vs russia event at the moment though. so Bivol these guys need to start the paper work to claim another nationality.... (i think beterb already has with canada...)

canelo & ggg are close to making real history.
has there ever been a boxer in history who beat the same opponent 3 times (in the 'actual fight'/ re-/rubber match) just to get fvcked over/robbed all 3 times?
