Valero v Guzman

Post by KO Artist »

What a fight this would be.

A 130lb version of Mugabi v Jackson (which never happened)

Lets hope this matchup of bombers does happen.

How do you see it?

Tough to call. Maybe after I see this Mosquera fight.

Guzman is thought of mainly as a puncher, but he also has great handspeed and a lot of skill. He's basically a stylist with a big punch - which obviously makes him a pretty formidable fighter.

Anyway, that being said, if he gets past Barrios (which I expect him to, and I rate Barrios quite highly) a fight with Valero would indeed be an excellent spectacle.

One you wouldn't want to miss, but hard to call without seeing the best of Valero - ie his title win. Guzman looked awesome winning his first world title....

Pac Man would be the million dollar fight, then you've got punchers like Freitas and Corrales hovering around 135 too.

I know Guzman's opponents have been criticised- but has he ever been hurt or floored.

If the answer is no, then I favour him. Valero has been hurt and floored in his first major test. Yes, it is quite remarkable how he recovered and that is testiment to him obviously having championship balls. However, think Guzman will test that chin futher - and maybe Valero will not get up this time.

Although, if Valero makes it past the half way mark and is not fecked - I would tip him.

But my final prediction would be Guzman KO 3.

I want to see this knockdown. Ive heard from some that it was a slip, and some that he was hurt. Keeping in mind most haven't seen the fight. Mostly what is written has come from crazy charged up Panamainian radio commentator's who you could imagine going nuts the first time Valero touches the floor. I define hurt as say a guys legs going when he gets hit. They are then usually are on wobbly legs the rest of the fight. Valero got up and gave him a beating.
