Lucas Santamaria beat Abel Ramos recently by UD. Santamaria's currently ranked #36 at welter, Ramos #17
Is this caused by the fact that paul kroll (#32) beat santamaria? so you have to juggle multiple winner above loser scenarios?

Hi
Fighter no ID 779812 ( currently 162 on boxrec ) – last three oponents boxrec : 1. Fighter ( currently 209 on boxrec ), 2. Fighter - (currently 250 on boxrec) , 3. Fighter - (currently 272 on boxrec)
Fighter no ID 909426 ( currently 157 on boxrec ) - last three oponents boxrec : 1. Fighter (currently 347 on boxrec), 2. Fighter - (currently 409 on boxrec), 3. Fighter - (currently 804 on boxrec)
How is it possible that boxer 909426 have more points and is ranked higher than boxer 779812. ( both fight regularly )
Unfortunately I have doubts if the fighter ID 779812 gets the correct points after the fights. Can You please check it ?

I raise the question, Why Kamil Gardzielik ID# 779812 14 a professional fights (14-0 , last 10 rounds), has fewer points if he beats boxers with higher scores than, for example, Rafał Wołczecki ID# 909426 (6-0, 6 rounds) who defeated in the last fight Mateo Damian Veron boxrec 347 and and he was promoted from position 221 to 156?? kamil gardzielik won with Palacios (boxrec before fight 177 and currently 210) and after fight gardzielik has 3.000 points but now 1.186?? Wolczecki after fights has 0.921 points but now 1,311,.... To sum up Summing up, how is it possible that one boxer wins with a better opponent and has more points after the fight and suddenly falls and has less points than a boxer who defeated a weaker opponent by about 150 places on boxrec ... please check it out because I don't see any sense in that .. thank you963168 wrote: ↑05 Apr 2022, 04:47 Hi

Re: Ratings - please read before commenting
Kamil Gardzielik has a raw rating of 2.914 at bout against Palacios (highest rating within last 18 months with straight clear wins and no close or lost bout before). The BoxRec rating is limited by max twice the rating of the best opponent clearly defeated within the last 3 years, for close or lost bouts the factor is lower. For Kamil Gardzielik his best result is the close win (clear decision factor = 0.67) against Palacios, with 0.712 at bout time. So the limit it 1.67 * 0.712 = 1.19.963168 wrote: ↑05 Apr 2022, 04:47 Hi

Rafal Wolczecki has a raw rating of 1.312 at bout against Dmytro Bohdanov. For Rafal Wolczecki his best result is the clear win against Veron with 0.756 at bout time. So the limit is 2 * 0.756 = 1.51. Bit his raw rating is only 1.312. So his BoxRec rating is 1.312.
Re: Ratings - please read before commenting
Thank you for your answer but something's wrong .. I am a promoter and I remember that Palacios before the fight with Gardzielik had more than 0.712 because he was 177 boxrec so he had about 1.000 points (boxer between 170-180 has 0.995 to 1.150). In fact , Palacios now have 0.712 after losing with Gardzielik. In turn, how its possible that Veron had 0.756 points during the fight with Wolczecki if he was 330 on boxrec .. ?? it's impossible that he was 330 and he had 0.756 points and now he is 348 and he has 0.206. Please to check it again because something is clearly wrong. I will write it again, how it is possible that Palacios at the time of the fight with Gardzielik had 0.712 as they now have 0.712 after losing with him. The same goes for the rest of the opponents Gardzielik : Raynoso or Julio, there are also had higher ratings in the moment of the fight.computerrank wrote: ↑08 Apr 2022, 03:25Kamil Gardzielik has a raw rating of 2.914 at bout against Palacios (highest rating within last 18 months with straight clear wins and no close or lost bout before). I don't know, what rating BoxRec published for Palacios before his loss against Gardzielik. There were some ratings program changes since last November. But I can simulate the current situation without that bout. Without that bout Palacios would have the same rating as now with that bout.963168 wrote: ↑09 Apr 2022, 15:33Thank you for your answer but something's wrong .. Regarding the reference to Veron as Wolczecki's best win in the last 3 year, I made a typo. Wolczecki's best opponent was Dmytro Bohdanov with 0.756 at bout time.

Yes, it is a bug in the calculation of the achievement of a boxer's bout result.jezzamundo wrote: ↑10 Apr 2022, 19:09 GGG p4p #1 - surely this is a mistake?! He's been my favourite fighter for years, but this doesn't seem right.
I already fiixed it. Alvarez will be at 897 points and Golovkin at 671 points.
It will take some days to set it live.

Ratings change for close losses
The change was forced by the fact, that good close results against strong opponents turned out to a bit overrated finally by BoxrRec. So at the end Golovkin was rated higher than Alvarez, although he had lost to Alvarez.
This might have also decreased the rating of other boxers, whose rating lately mainly relied on a close loss to a strong opponent.

Re: Ratings - please read before commenting
The BoxRec ratings formula had to be corrected last week. Close losses to good opponents were overrated by BoxRec. So the value of close losses to good opponents had to be reduced in general. It is nothing special with your rating.870563 wrote: ↑24 Apr 2022, 06:28 I have not lost for 2 years. Should not be deducted points please maybe check, it is very important to me, I moved back 70 places.
https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/828382
Your rating completly depended on the close loss to Horlin Kopa from 2019-07-12, which gave you a rating of 50% of Harlin Kopa's rating at that time = 1.629 * 0.5 = 0.814. Now, as the value of that close loss was corrected, your defining best result is your win against Ryan Aston, which gives you a rating of 2 * 0.194 = 0.389, which is twice his rating at that time.

I fear, you do not understand the principles of the BoxRec ratings.870563 wrote: ↑24 Apr 2022, 09:21 kopa was making his debut so he had no points. I got points with Ambrose Sutidze and Ryan Aston. At first I had 880 points then 774 decreased and now it has decreased to 390. The points added to the defeat were not lacking it just is unfair. Will I add lost points if I reach the average weight?
BoxRec rates every boxer at time of each his bouts. These ratings change for every boxer with each bout between any boxers entered later.
So your rating for the bout against Kopa was changed many times, with each bout of you, of your opponents, of Kopa and with each bout of his opponents. Although it was a debut bout of him, his rating at time of that bout is much higher now from today's perspective, it is 1.629. But - as I said, BoxRec had to correct the ratings formula for other reasons. And you now get less points for that bout.
Your best valued result now is your win against Aston.

Re: Ratings - please read before commenting
BoxRec calculates a boxer's rating (estimated strength) at time of each bout. So regarding a particular bout you can see a boxer's rating at time of his bout before, at time of his particular bout and at time of his bout after. These ratings are calculated based on all bouts of all boxers before and after that particular bout. A boxer's rating at time of a particular bout is influenced by:
- his own results and the estimated opponent's ratings at bout time, descending with time distance to the particular bout
- the results and opponents' ratings at bout time of his opponents descending with time distance to the particular bout
- the results and opponents' ratings at bout time of his opponents' opponents descending with time distance to the particular bout
Re: Ratings - please read before commenting
I meant ranking. Not the rating itself. For example, I want to see where Usyk was before the fight with Joshua.

I don't understand two things.
1. on the bout page of canelo and bivol it says "after fight", is this already a calculated rating regardless of the result?
2. why canelo on his personal page, the rating has long exceeded 1000 points, and on the page with the overall ratings of boxers by weight category, he has only 864 points?

The current BoxRec ratings by weight division are derived from the WHR ratings. They are limited by the highest WHR rating within the last 18 months in an uninterrupted sequence of clear wins. And they are limited by twice the WHR rating of the the best defeated opponent within the last 3 years.
