Say what you want about Dubai but that shit would never happen here. Britain’s become a shit hole. A person should be able to wear what they want without some slime ball stealing it at gun point.
One thing I never see here is junkies roaming the streets. Or even people fighting. It’s been refreshing tbh.
Amur Khans a very successful man who has took his lumps to be able to afford nice stuff, he doesn’t deserve this because he chooses to wear it.

Useless wankers.SticknMove wrote: ↑18 Apr 2022, 20:35Looks like these gunpoint thieves have no respect for watches.....Wee Tommy wrote: ↑18 Apr 2022, 20:25 Say what you want about Dubai but that shit would never happen here. Leyton has changed a bit over the ensuing decades. Was plenty of thieving back then too. Just goes to show there is no respect anymore. Lifting lead off the roof of municipal/civic buildings is too time consuming. Get a fvcking gun and an angry face and nick Amir's watch....far easier.Wee Tommy wrote: ↑18 Apr 2022, 21:24I hate thieves. Hopefully someone blows their heads off at some point. While robbing people sucks and guns duck even more, wearing someone's yearly income on your wrist is fuking silly.
Rafa or Floyd or someone else with they"re 500k watches is Gunna get his wrist cut off in a snatch and run one day...

That’s it in a nutshell. I lost my briefcase in Dubai during my first week living here, within 6 hours the police had traced it and got back for me. Passport, iPad, money was all intact. The luggage guy at the hotel I was moving from had put it in the wrong taxi. Using cctv they followed the taxi all over including an airport stop till they seen my bag leaving the boot with a recent arrival. They went to his hotel room and retrieved it. In the UK I’d have been told there was nothing they could/would do.

Re: Amir Khan held at gunpoint in London
Sorry to hear that this happened to Amir, I'm glad that him and his wife are safe and unhurt...
On the negative side, a 500 grand watch is a distasteful waste of money, no matter how rich you are...
And surely anyone would realise that walking around with it on is asking for trouble.

Re: Amir Khan held at gunpoint in London
His watch was 71k.
The watches that do cost 500k, such as the higher end Pateks and Richard Milles are investments and tend to rise in value, a lot, over time.
I see loads of them where I live now and I know for a fact that they don’t get robbed at gunpoint.
What’s more distasteful, wearing a nice watch or stealing one at gunpoint?

Re: Amir Khan held at gunpoint in London
Yeah proper high end watches are crazy expensive and always appreciate. It's a mental market.
I've got loads but nothing that's worth over a few hundred quid, I'm too clumsy. Couple of mates have Rolexes, one has six.

Depends on how much the watch is and why the persons stealing it. If someone is desperate, there kids are skipping meals, and your wearing a million bucks on your wrist... Im not saying its right, but honestly, i find it less distasteful.Wee Tommy wrote: ↑19 Apr 2022, 05:35 His watch was 71k.
