Or

If you edit the post to make it a Poll will work better.

Gomez Pintor for me.

Morales versus Barrera gets my vote because they fought at a furious pace. But they were both classics !

I just saw the two fights on YouTube and all I got to say was "wow!"

But, in my honest opinion, Barrera vs Morales was more fast-paced than Gomez vs Pintor.

Barrera vs Morales were at the same level in skill and both were strong in that weight of 122lbs

Meanwhile, Pintor had to go up 4 pounds and the physicality against Gonez was not up to par. He was almost on the ropes most of the time. In both fights, those 4 fighters received a lot of punishment. Pintor went down because of exhaustion more than the punches in the 14th round. He just couldn't go any further against someone bigger than he.

I just wished that Barrera vs Morales fights were 15 rounds instead of 12.

There's another 122lbs title fight held in France about 7 or 8 years ago. It was a Frenchman against a guy from Thailand. I don't know their names but it was another terrific fast paced fight that need honorary mention. I will look at it on YouTube

Also, by watching Wilfredo "Bazooka" Gomez vs Lupe Pintor, I just can't see how Bazooka would have won against the great Salvador Sanchez in a rematch.

Sanchez was in another level of Pintor. In a different class. And Pintor gave Bazooka lots of problems. I imagine a rematch with Sanchez would have been the same or worse.

Gomez-Pintor to me was the best fight of the 1980s besides Hagler-Hearns and Duran-Leonard I.

:salut: there's a decent amount of competition- you can add Arguello - Pryor and Holyfield - Qawi- but it is certainly to be included in the same sentence.

Both great fights. I think I liked Gómez-Pintor so much because there were regular back and forth momentum shifts and brutal punching and Pintor seemed unbreakable, until he wasn’t at the end. Pintor was such a hard man, Gómez was considered a little bit of damaged goods after getting his cheekbone broken in the first round vs Sanchez

:TU:

i think people vastly understate just how much Pintor was in that fight; Gomez (as was his wont at this point) threw the kitchen sink at him a couple of times but Pintor was always defending intelligently and countering back, and then once Gomez gassed he had a torrid time of it from Pintor's bodyshots and jolting jabs/ etc. i've seen people express a view that Gomez kinda dominated or beat him up for a lot of the early rounds

Thanks. That's the fight that I am talking about!

What about Israel Vazquez vs Rafael Marquez four-fight series at 122lbs? Which was their best fight?

Also a fight of Soo Hwang Hong vs Hector Carrasquilla was a true classic.
