Re: MTK Closed for Business
Interesting. I wonder whether they’ll look to start again under a new name and the bulk of the fighters join or whether they’ll all go their separate ways.
Re: MTK Closed for Business
He's been openly advising their fighters up till recently so how have they ceased all contact with Kinahan since 2017? That makes no sense.
Re: MTK Closed for Business
It's a shame where all the money was coming from as a lot of fighters benefitted from being with MTK. They will all have a lot less cash going forward

Yeh, didn't he help with the BJS-Canelo negotiations?
Also, wasn't Hearn discussing negotiations with him for Fury-AJ last year..

I wonder if we will see less fighters with Ben Davison in their corners now.
Re: MTK Closed for Business
Is Macklin still involved?
He must have been real good friends with them

It was Sky who showed the Golden Contract so I'm not sure where they get off pressing Fury or anyone about links to Kinahan

Exactly mate the hypocrisy is heavy with this case.handsofstone wrote: ↑20 Apr 2022, 12:16 It was Sky who showed the Golden Contract so I'm not sure where they get off pressing Fury or anyone about links to Kinahan
Folk want to castigate anyone with anything to do with them, then act surprised when they see a tweet like the above.

Re: MTK Closed for Business
The Powers at be at Comcast (Sky), BT, ESPN, etc genuinely won't have had a clue about MTK being a suspected money laundering operation until last week. To date boxing management and promotional companies with fighters operating on their sports platforms will have been of no relevance at their level. The likes of Adam Smith won't have passed concerns, if he wasn't too gormless to have any, up the chain (probably). As soon as the Feds knock on their doors though and there is a real chance of punishment and a dip in the share prices the boys at the top will feed down instructions to cut ties.

Macklin is not involved in anything, never has been. Kinahan was a genuine fan but used him really when he used his name, wittingly or unwittingly.

It’s ok to grill Tyson and other fighters whose just advised by him but somehow his best mate and business partners not been ‘involved’ with anything.jimmystone wrote: ↑20 Apr 2022, 13:19 Macklin is not involved in anything, never has been. I find the hypocrisy a bit funny that’s all.

Yeh I don’t think for a second he was involved in selling smack. From what I’ve been told neither is Kinahan. Even if you look at the seizures they attribute to his ‘gang’, it’s all cannabis and coke.jimmystone wrote: ↑20 Apr 2022, 13:41Wee Tommy wrote: ↑20 Apr 2022, 13:25It’s ok to grill Tyson and other fighters whose just advised by him but somehow his best mate and business partners not been ‘involved’ with anything.jimmystone wrote: ↑20 Apr 2022, 13:19 Macklin is not involved in anything, never has been. I find the hypocrisy a bit funny that’s all.Sorry, I didn't mean they shouldn't grill him. I meant he wasn't involved in the smack trade. With hindsight, if the Yanks think MTK are laundering money somehow, and if they are or were, it would be interesting to here what Matthew thinks. Not that he'll say.
My point is, people are going nuts about Tyson saying Daniels helped him, which I’m sure he actually has, along with hundreds of other fighters. Yet Macklins names been on the gym since it opened and he gets a pass.
I also find the Mack The Knife name a bit ridiculous. Supposedly that’s his handle.
Now these sanctions have came out it’s a surprise to everyone involved. Leave Tyson alone ahead of his fight is my opinion.
I think it’s a bit pathetic all these nobody journos jumping on the bandwagon acting like they are Roger Cook trying to grill him. Same as they done to the UFC fighter. If he’s helped them in the fight game doesn’t mean they are involved in anything else he’s allegedly been upto.

It is journo by numbers to jump on the biggest name, even if their connection to anything might be tenuous to say the least.
