BoxRec Forum HW Top 15 ranking - Fury vs. Whyte
Re: BoxRec Forum HW Top 15 ranking - Fury vs. Whyte
Drop Whyte to 14.
One above Chisora.
If Chisora is the UK gatekeeper, then Whyte is the European one.
He has been proven 3 times to be below world standard.
After waiting 3+ years for his title shot, that was an abysmal performance.

so where would you rank parker then? lost to whyte and got dropped/only won a split vs chis
some of these rankings are just weird tbh
Re: BoxRec Forum HW Top 15 ranking - Fury vs. Whyte
One or two above Whyte. I am pretty confident he beats Whyte, and he would have beaten him the first time.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Apr 2022, 15:31so where would you rank parker then? lost to whyte and got dropped/only won a split vs chis

and he got dropped by chizz and barely won by split the first time
is he a euro gatekeeper too?
Re: BoxRec Forum HW Top 15 ranking - Fury vs. Whyte
I get it. It's an imperfect setting. We're bound to disagree on things here. Makes it fun and interesting. Besides, Whyte was Gawd-Awful in this fight right from the onset.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Apr 2022, 14:06 just saying, andy ruiz has 1 unimpressive win over about the last 3 years. inactive for a year
ortiz since 2018 has only beaaten florez, hammer, and martin, none of whom we ranked at the time. whytes beaten parker, rivas, povetkin, chisora, and wach. 4 of the 5 we ranked and the other ko'd one of ortiz's guys
just seems odd to me that whyte would plummet below guys like this off the loss to #1. we arent voting on these guys but we can factor them in when deciding where to place whyte

no, so why are all these dudes voting whyte below him lol. whyte's gotten like 5 wins over top 15-ers in the last 3/4 years
Re: BoxRec Forum HW Top 15 ranking - Fury vs. Whyte
He has a much more proven level than some of those above him on the list. And I'm not sure he is a gatekeeper, but the loser of Joyce Parker deserves a drop in ranking by a few.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Apr 2022, 15:33he lost to whyte, your #14KiwiRider wrote: ↑25 Apr 2022, 15:32One or two above Whyte. well, he's certainly proven to be a loser to whyte and to barely be able to beat chizzKiwiRider wrote: ↑25 Apr 2022, 15:42He has a much more proven level than some of those above him on the list. "what have you done for me lately." is inactivity worse than losing? Losing 2x by KO?margaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Apr 2022, 15:41 no, so why are all these dudes voting whyte below him lol. whyte's gotten like 5 wins over top 15-ers in the last 3/4 years

in the same time that whyte's beaten parker, rivas, povetkin, chisora, and wach, 4 of whom were in our top 15.....ortiz hasnt beaten 1 top 15 fighter.
these votes are the weirdest ive seen yet on any of our polls. whyte getting plummeted below far lesser accomplished fighters because he lost to the clear #1
hell, let's put him below pulev while we're at it , seems to fit right in with the theme
Re: BoxRec Forum HW Top 15 ranking - Fury vs. Whyte
I would have pappy Ortiz off the list all together if there was anyone half decent to replace him. He does have fight changing power as displayed against Martin. But not a lot else.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Apr 2022, 15:45ortiz was brutaally ktfo a couple fights ago ago himselfoogiebe wrote: ↑25 Apr 2022, 15:43"what have you done for me lately." is inactivity worse than losing? I feel like you may have a hornet in your handbag today Mags, looking for a bit of niggle?
Re: BoxRec Forum HW Top 15 ranking - Fury vs. Whyte
Everything depends on how one looks at it. 10 was a low as I'd go and that was difficult going through each rung as there are arguments each decision. He just looked so damn bad in this one. Orts' losses to Wilder, he did himself a much better service than whyte. I see your point, but I just don't agree at this time.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Apr 2022, 15:45ortiz was brutaally ktfo a couple fights ago ago himselfoogiebe wrote: ↑25 Apr 2022, 15:43"what have you done for me lately." is inactivity worse than losing? nah, just as someone whose been involved in these ratings for a while, dropping whyte so much on the fury loss is exactly how we;ve gotten guys climbing rankings when theyve been inactive or done nothing remotely impressive for years. its moves like that which reward guys for sitting around/can crushing and punish guys who challenge themselves

having whyte below a 43 year old who has never beaten one of our ranked fighters is something i just dont grasp. its rewarding/punishing the wrong thingsoogiebe wrote: ↑25 Apr 2022, 15:51Everything depends on how one looks at it. 10 was a low as I'd go and that was difficult going through each rung as there are arguments each decision. otto wallin did better than whyte against fury, should we move whyte beneath him too? beating breazeale is about as good as beating martin as well
Re: BoxRec Forum HW Top 15 ranking - Fury vs. Whyte
Again, that's how you see it. 1-2-0 being kayoed twice isn't very deserving of a high ranking. if it were up to me, pulev would be out of the rankings altogether at his point.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Apr 2022, 15:54having whyte below a 43 year old who has never beaten one of our ranked fighters is something i just dont grasp. its rewarding/punishing the wrong thingsoogiebe wrote: ↑25 Apr 2022, 15:51Everything depends on how one looks at it. 10 was a low as I'd go and that was difficult going through each rung as there are arguments each decision. Re: BoxRec Forum HW Top 15 ranking - Fury vs. Whyte
why do you keep stopping at his last 3? he's had more fights than that. where did you rank him going into the fury fight? you seem to care more about his loss in 2020 to pov now
and win over pov would still eclipse anything ortiz's done lately !
whyte has at least 5 wins over guys in our top 15, ortiz is a 43 year old who has 0 and was brutally ktfo himself a couple fights ago. whatever i guess, i just dont get it

still better than coming off the canvas twice to beat charles martin too![]()
