Skilled street fighter vs decent level pro boxer.

There are multiple permutations as to who would win but the general popular consensus is the boxer should win, which is an understandable if fairly ignorant conclusion, akin to folk automatically assuming smaller species of bears and big cats would decimate powerful dog breeds because they have claws and scarier teeth.

What's the street fighter's main strengths? if he's a good wrestler or kicker or something, he has a shot. If he plans on trading punches with the guy. The Decent Boxer is probably gonna kick his ass.

I would think any Boxer that's in the Top 400 or so is gonna be able to beat up most people in a fist fight. If you're not trying to outpunch 'em, then maybe you can beat 'em.

Are we talking about a boxing match or just a straight out fight? :-? I think people need to do a bit of research on a guy called Kimbo Slice because that was probably the best example of a street fighter becoming a professional fighter.

I'm not sure how much MMA training he had prior to his first match with Ray Mercer, but it could not have been for too awful long. Needless to say he beat Ray.

Or you could go back to the 1990s with somebody like David Abbott who was nothing more than a bar room brawler who basically was able to run the table over some pretty decent pros.

If it's just a straight up boxing match I venture to say any professional with conditioning and the rudimentary basics is going to whip the crap out of virtually any street fighter no matter how tough they are.

Jesus Christ Almighty God bless you all :TU:

Apologies should have mentioned a street fight.

Where the misnomer lies is, folk believe boxer vs skilled street fighter will end up in a standup punchdown, akin to how Irish traveller disputes are settled. Even boxer vs boxer in a street fight end up holding and mauling each other to the ground, it’s a very primitive fighting style but what humans resort to.

Some boxers are from an unprivileged background and started out as street brawlers who then fell into boxing, some from a more privileged background who chose boxing from the outset. I’d take the former to beat the later in a street fight even if the later was a way more accomplished boxer.

I think a prime Ali rightly deserves to be considered the greatest at Queensbury rules, don’t think he’d have that distinction over all the other heavies in street fights. Would scratch to all MMA heavies in street fights and in my opinion be in trouble versus skilled street fighters from all walks of life.
