Yeh, Bivol is a small LHW. He has offered to fight at 168 in the past too.gregregegg wrote: ↑27 Apr 2022, 19:59 I doubt Bivol significantly outweights canelo. By bigger I meant Canelo began as a welterweight and moved up. He is significantly shorter than Bivol,. Bivol also has a reach advantage and has always fought above 173. Cáñelo has fought once above 173. By the time they are in the ring Cáñelo may weight more, who knowsgregregegg wrote: ↑27 Apr 2022, 19:59 I doubt Bivol significantly outweights canelo. Bivol is taller than canelo and longer but not taller/longer Canelos recent opponents.
-Plant is an inch taller, and a bit longer than bivol..
-Billy is an inch shorter and a bit less long than bivol.
-Yildrims about the same height as bivol.
-Callum smith is 3 inches taller, and much longer.
-Kovalev is same height same legnth.
-Daniel jacobs is same height same legnth
-feilding is an inch taller, bit longer
If you average these guys in ring weight its probably Very close to bivols. Being outsized and stregnthed shouldent be an issue for canelo.. ,His last 7 fights have been against guys around the 6 foot mark...
Bivol is the one that might have a tough time with size, very little experience fighting 5'8 nuggets, thats gunna throw everything off a bit. And sure you can try and recreate it in sparring, but how? with who? Daid Lemieux is probably your best bet.... cant think of many others...

Thanks, wasn’t looking for a debate. I think you know essentially I am saying Bivol is a light heavyweight and has been his entire career and Canelo is not. Not sure that is arguablegregregegg wrote: ↑27 Apr 2022, 22:07 Bivol is taller than canelo and longer but not taller/longer Canelos recent opponents.

exact same judges as in canelo vs ggg 2!Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑22 Apr 2022, 17:35 Russell Mora Tabbed As Referee;

mindboggling. what else is there to say?
p.s.
as the 'official' record states otherwise let's not forget that golovkin beat canelo twice. back 2 back. clearly.

There’s a different referee and one of the judges didn’t work Canelo-GGG II (i.e. Russell Mora and Tim Cheatham).
Also, the NSAC only has a certain amount of referees and judges at their disposal, which means it’s commonplace to see the same set of senior officials working marquee bouts staged in Las Vegas.
For instance: Tim Cheatham, Dave Moretti and Steve Weisfeld worked on many bouts that were staged in Las Vegas that involved Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao.
Meaning that any fighter that competes in Las Vegas will have a reasonable expectation as to whom would be officiating their bouts.
Also, Steve Weisfeld and Russell Mora have both previously worked on Dmitry Bivol bouts.
Therefore, unless you’re new to the sport of boxing, I really don’t understand the reason for your outrage and your shock about the judges working the Canelo-Bivol bout.

You have to be able to see that two of the judges for this bout were the two judges (the only 2) that gave Canelo a controversial win over GGG. (Controversial, not calling it a robbery). And that that fact is in itself controversial.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑28 Apr 2022, 05:47That’s not technically correct.adislav123 wrote: ↑28 Apr 2022, 00:01exact same judges as in canelo vs ggg 2!Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑22 Apr 2022, 17:35 Russell Mora Tabbed As Referee;

Now I admit it's not Byrd... Byrd would be a full on riot. But personally I think they could created a situation where bivols fate wasn't in the hands of two judges that gave Canelo his most famous and most famously questioned victory.
Having 1 judge with questionmarks isn't the end of the world, the other two can overrule. But having two that don't have fans confidence is a problem that can be avoided.

Bivol could score a knockdown every round and be lucky to get a draw. He has to score a KO or TKO to win.

I think Canelo may stop Bivol. I saw Canelo training and he looks so powerful, mean and ready to punish for a "small" fighter. He's on supersayan mode.
Canelo looks to have so much energy, stamina, power, determination and focus when he's training. Even when he is sparring big guys, he places his shots very well, snappy and strong. You can see that he's punching hard vs much bigger guys.
Its very impressive how a small guy like Canelo is so powerful. I mean if you see him in person on the street and never know he's a pro boxer, sizing him up, you may think you could handle him in a street fight.
His neck and his head look massive.

I had similar feelings about the Tai Kwon Do teacher at college. In casual street clothes he looked just like any other guy walking around London.
My friend Calvin, who was no mean martial artist himself, told me that this guy could break my arm in 2 seconds if I tried to test him.
Somehow I resisted the temptation to find out for myself.

Now it depends what contact sports did/do you practice. I think a good wrestler or a kick boxer could do some damages to a pro boxer or to a karate teacher. I saw some skinny good kick boxers that literally can chop down massive guys with low kicks or middle kicks. Their shins are hard as concrete.

that's just wrong. their shins at the very most are hard as... very hard BONE. not quite as hard as concrete.apollo creed wrote: ↑28 Apr 2022, 16:29Thomastearns wrote: ↑28 Apr 2022, 15:40apollo creed wrote: ↑28 Apr 2022, 14:12 I think Canelo may stop Bivol. i highly doubt you can turn your shins into concrete by hitting hard shit a lot.
might be wrong.
would have to try.
but i guess the ultimate method to check if your shins turned 'hard as concrete' by say hitting a real concrete pillar full force with your shin would end pretty traumatic.

Per pound, bone is four times harder than concrete.adislav123 wrote: ↑29 Apr 2022, 18:05 that's just wrong. their shins at the very most are hard as... very hard BONE. not quite as hard as concrete.

@ adislav123
it was a figure of speech. I could've said 'hard as iron' too. lol
Anyway, good kb or muay thai fighters have brutal leg kicks. If you don't believe me, you could enter in a good kb/ muay thai gym and spar the best fighters of that gym.
I think kb and muay thai are the most effective combat sports in a real street fight. I saw some brutal kb sparrings with lots of creative attacks, using all the moves in the book. Those guys were made from iron.

i think bivol is saul toughest fight in a long time, bivol is a boxer saul has always found tricky, i know bivol last couple of fights havent been great, but he was finding it hard to get fights if we see the bivol against smith jr era i reckon he beats saul

Today it's hard to imagine a tricky style for Canelo. Anyway, even if Bivol can do it, he gotta do it really wide.

He lost his dad a month ago. Thought he could still go through with the fight. But now says he can’t.
