Ruiz has done this before. When he had the rematch with Joshua and he was looking to sign against Wilder?

I'm still skeptical. Something will happen and fight will be scrapped

It is now scheduled for August 13th in Los Angeles.

It's a long wait for the fight, too bad they couldn't have had it in June or early July.

I imagine Ruiz is extremely obese right now, and needs the time to attempt to get a little fitter for the fight.

Charles flippin Martin had the better of grandpappy Ortiz until he didn't.

He is a very lucky guy who has been grossly overpaid considering his actual talent.

At 43 even, he'll be much better than a 40 yr old Arreola, who gave Ruiz a decent fight.

It will help Ruiz, and boxing over-all to be honestb if he wins, but don't think he will. Unless he tires Ortiz out, he'll get beat up, possibly stopped.

these dudes both been tasting canvas lately haven't they. ortiz twice at the hands of great charles martin and andy at arreola's smashing hands.

ruiz a lot younger, but not exactly an energetic fighter is he. ortiz's legs looked pretty bad last time though. could see ortiz gettting a nice lead but then getting put down.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Ortiz's legs.

He had that top heavy unbalanced look that old fighers get, like Lucas Browne against Whyte.
I don't want to see this fight. Has it come to this?
That we actually give time to a fat little cruiser weight and a 43 year old 'never was?
I'm not even sure I have the motivation to watch it on YouTube, let alone hand over money to see it.
I'd like to think I'm just a bit jaded, but really- its a sh*t fight barely worth a support slot.

Andy Ruiz Jr. beats Luis Ortiz.

The Cuban will inevitably enjoy a lot of success during the first few rounds, because the Mexican is a traditionally slow starter.

But Ortiz will fade and his seemingly questionable durability will become apparent.

This is when Ruiz Jr. will take over and gain the winning momentum.

Andy is a technical boxer that is heavy-handed, but definitely not a big puncher. He rarely KO’s opponents - that’s not what he’s known for.

I think Andy will probably win by decision, but a late stoppage is feasible if Ortiz is as frail as he was against Charles Martin.

It’s an intriguing fight on paper, but I have a hunch it’ll be very boring, because I think it’s simply going to be a case of the shorter fatter fighter outworking his older but naturally bigger foe.

I think Ruiz bulldozed Ortiz and stops him within 7 or 8 rounds, Mabey significantly earlier.

Ortiz dosent have the legs to deal with him anymore. Ortiz is obviously a punchers chance especialy early but I think Ruiz's chin should hold up.

Ruiz's durability looked poor once, last fight, but for now I'll say that's an anomaly of one of those chopping behind the ear shots that can have a slightly random effect.

Guess I'm in the minority thinking Ortiz will win this one, but ok with that. I'll either be laughing or come back and admit I was wrong.

Nothing wrong with either. Ortiz has a chance at winning of course.

You’re entitled to your opinion.
