Changing Rankings
Id like to know why the rankings for some fighters change so dramatically overnight. Some instance a few weeks ago Alan Paredes was 148 in superfeatherweight with over 1000 pts. After he wins a 10 round fight with an international oponent an now he is 269 with
10 pts. Some fighters he has beaten have better rankings than he has now. It seems irrational that this happens, it kinda gives people the wrong idea. Ive seen some of the records of fighters before him in the rankings and it makes very little sense if you take your time to analize it.

Re: Changing Rankings
There were some substantial changes in the rating rules since May 2006.peruboxing wrote:Id like to know why the rankings for some fighters change so dramatically overnight. We implemented a launch procedure, every boxer has to pass before he gets a rating as an established boxer.
This procedure includes 15 grades, and all pointages below 16 represent these grades.
A boxer can only get a valid rating above this, after he defeated a boxer of grade 15 or after he defeated an established boxer.
So Alan Paredes is not yet regarded as a boxer with a valid rating, but as a boxer with launching grade 10.
There might be boxers, he defeated before times, who now are established, while he still is not established regarding the rules stated above.
In general, you cannot compare pointages before May with pointages today.
Today only a small part of all boxers are regarded to have a valid rating - in super featherweight only 149 of 884.
