I can’t see anything written from any Oggiebe here sorry. As for what if someone beats the shit out of someone, that happens every day. I want boxing to be more of a sport and less of a wwe type of thing. That means more weightclasses. You are ofcourse free to have your opinion and you are entitled to it. If you or soome oogie feels the need to call me names for voicing mine then that's also aokay.you're no boxing fan. Anyone who wants more weight classes is an idiot.
Larry Holmes says there should be a 'size limit' on heavyweights!!!

In the 400+ super duper wupper division the participants can just text their "punches." I think a couple people here would be thrilled with that.

We don't need more divisions!
Holyfield was lineal champ at cruiserweight (then 190 lbs) and heavyweight!
Michael Spinks was lineal champ at light heavyweight and heavyweight!
Bob Fitzsimmons was lineal champ at middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight!

yep, although bobby shows how different the times were. to become middle + light heavy + heavy champ he beat opponents who weighed 147, 168, and 184 on fight day, and he was only outweighed in 1 of the fights. no one even close to a modern heavy

All the big athletic guys in the States go into basketball or American football. You can earn a fortune without being punched in the face. Infact aren't guys like Wilder and Breazeale failed basketball/football players?

I thought Wilder's decision to opt for pro boxing was an immediate way to start paying the medical bills for his daughter?

wilder was playing basketball at a community college or something, but then got kicked out for bad grads. i think at that point he started working 2 jobs (one as a delivery driver for budweiser) and at the same time took up boxing and of course went pro after winning the bronze
i dont think tony harrison or wilder were ever destined for the nba

None of the top NBA players of the current generation are from America. Jokic and Giannis are from Europe and Embiid is from Africa.
Plus, American football isn't exactly safe. The average NFL playing career lasts just 3.3 years.
A lot of people say the position that would translate best to heavyweight boxing is tight end, and tight ends don't get paid all that much. Chris Cooley, an elite modern tight end, spent 9 seasons in the NFL and ended his playing career with $24m earnings from the league. A boxer can earn that in one fight...

Also, in Ring magazine's end of year rankings for 2011, there wasn't a single US-born fighter ranked in the top 11 at middleweight, I'm sure there are plenty of other divisions and years where this was also the case, but this was the first one I came across...

I read the interview. He's quoted as saying it "jokingly." It's a joke. Click bait thread. Pointless. We've done the size thing to death on here.
