For the record i think Frazier/Ali 1 is overrated
Re: Boxing News front cover a bit OTT?
Yeah bit OTT,they mean well, & that fight did put a lot of mens fights of late to shame to be fair, but that's a wild statement

Re: Boxing News front cover a bit OTT?
In this day and age we tend to try and create historical moments in life on a whim. Time will tell if this is the fight of the century.
I won’t deny that it was fantastic for women’s boxing, my lass watched it with me and was very much invested in it, rather than casually watching as she does with other fights.
Women’s boxing has a very long way to go, let’s be honest, but as a spectacle between two of the best, it was pretty exciting stuff.
I suspect BN are merely suggesting that this is the fight that will help lift off the women’s game rather than ‘the fight of the century’. However, as we see in all sports these days, we get the women rammed down our throat with little justification so I can see why some think this is OTT.

Competitive fight
That's a rarity in women's boxing.
Unimpressive standard

BN been on a downward spiral since they started identifying itself as a magazine.

Sorry ladies you can't escape in your own light just yet, not with headlines like this.I was watching on the Sunday morning, my 5 year old daughter watched it with me and was really excited about it, she was totally blown away that “girls can do it too!” (her words). She’d not seen any women’s boxing before which is probably my fault as admittedly I just tend to fast forward most of it as it tends to not be great quality. But really glad we watched that one together, was a fantastic fight.

Yes its ott. Let them have a different magazine for women's boxing. See how many buy it. Different sport to me
Re: Boxing News front cover a bit OTT?
I can think of better fights with more drama.
Heck- Josh Taylor Vs Jack Catterall had more drama, was for undisputed and had a dodgy result.
AJ Vs Klitchko had way more drama.
Uysk for undisputed in the final of the WBSS was a better fight.
Nope, its woke pandering, trying to justify what was a pretty lame undisputed fight in a shallow division.

And it’s not just about excitement. It’s about the quality. Mens boxing is leagues above women’s. Womens world boxing is area level AT BEST.

‘My five year old saw that Trump won the election. As a tear rolled down her cheek she turned to me and asked “why did they stop Hillary Clinton from winning? Is it because she’s a woman and they don’t want a woman to be president mommy???” I held my daughter tightly but didn’t want to tell her the truth…… but I had to…. “Yes, Jessica, it is….. and now we have the evil orange man for 4 years….” But Jessica is a fighter and quickly replied “Don’t be sad mommy….. when I grow up I’ll become President and will make sure women are treated equally for ever!”…… it was my turn to cry….. but with happiness this time…..’

I was trying to think of undisputed 4 belt fights for a comparison, and every one that has happened this century has been better than the magazine cover. Admittedly the AJ Vs Klitchko was only for 3 belts, but Wilder was never going to face either so it was in a way undisputed.

Pretty poor stuff from a bloke who’s supposed to be a serious journalist.

Taylor was falling over her own feet in the last round in an attempt to throw leather and hope it lands. Absolute desperation. Add in the 10 x 2minute rounds.
Come on.

Re: Boxing News front cover a bit OTT?
Is it woke or is it an attempt to increase their business? I haven't bought a magazine in at least 20 years. My Mrs is subscribed to four. That's anecdotal, I know, but there is zero chance of me ever buying Boxing News, there is a better than zero chance of my Mrs buying it. Women are better spenders/more impulsive than men.
