I mean Bivol is boxing since he was a kid. Very good amateur pedigree. Bivol is in his prime, he is fighting at 175 with no rehydration weight limit, so Bivol, physically, will be very comfortable in the ring.
The only Q about Bivol if he'll be able to take Canelo's punches, bc somehow Bivol seems to have "sensitive" body and chin.

I mean you think canelo beats usyk, he should have no problem with bivy then
Re: I wonder if we underestimated Bivol too much bc he has his chance to beat Canelo
I don't underestimate Bivol at all.
I think this is a 60/40 fight in favour of Canelo.
It would take 12 rounds of concerted efforts on behalf of Bivol to win it, and that would probably only be on 90% of those watching it and not on the judge's cards.
I believe Bivol is the best challenge for Canelo in ages... And it should be a good fan friendly fight.

Underestimating bivol and overestimatin Canelo. For some reason I am not too excited about this one regardless.
Re: I wonder if we underestimated Bivol too much bc he has his chance to beat Canelo
I certainly don't underestimate Bivol , think he has the best chance of beating the cherry picker since the first GGG fight ,, but does'nt matter what i think of Bivol its the judges that count and there cards went in last week , , , no way do they go against there golden boy the money manapollo creed wrote: ↑07 May 2022, 17:41margaret thatcher wrote: ↑07 May 2022, 15:53 I mean you think canelo beats usyk, he should have no problem with bivy then![]()

I watched Bivol vs Pascal and Smith Jr, and Bivol is very good at what he does. Speed, 1-2 combos, jabs, top-notch footwork and good power too. I'm starting to reevaluate this boxing match and I think Bivol may be Canelo's toughest opponent to date. Also Bivol has a good ring iq and a good defense.KiwiRider wrote: ↑07 May 2022, 16:01 I don't underestimate Bivol at all.

I saw in the Joe Smith jr fight that Bivol is susceptible for the right looped overhand which Canelo has it in his arsenal.

If Bivol looks good for all 12 rds but he loses on the scorecards I think Canelo should give Bivol a rematch. We will see.coneye wrote: ↑07 May 2022, 17:54I certainly don't underestimate Bivol , think he has the best chance of beating the cherry picker since the first GGG fight ,, but does'nt matter what i think of Bivol its the judges that count and there cards went in last week , , , no way do they go against there golden boy the money manapollo creed wrote: ↑07 May 2022, 17:41margaret thatcher wrote: ↑07 May 2022, 15:53 I mean you think canelo beats usyk, he should have no problem with bivy then![]()

Realistically Canelo fought a 35 y/o GGG, a washed up Kovalev and Callum, Plant and BJS were ok-ish-more like some paper champions and not proven legit 168 pounders like the guys from S6.

Its easy to fall in the Canelo's hype BUT if he legitly beats Bivol or stops him, then imo it'd be Canelo's best win after GGG II.

I thought of that very shot as well, when contemplating this fight. Canelo will have to launch it higher to catch Bivol purely due to the height disparity. But yes, you can almost guarantee Canelo and his team have been working on that one

all we want is a good fight and...
if there's no knockout then may the fvckin' better man may be declared the fvckin' winner.
the latter unfortunately isn't guaranteed in this corrupt to the core, beautiful sport.

Re: I wonder if we underestimated Bivol too much bc he has his chance to beat Canelo
All I hope and pray for, is a KO or TKO, from either guy. I'm picking Bivol. We ALL know who will win a decision if it goes to the cards.
Re: I wonder if we underestimated Bivol too much bc he has his chance to beat Canelo
I was really high on Bivol early on but he plateaued while Canelo matured into a LHW.
I see Bivol blowing a winnable fight - he’s just not intense or high-volume enough to win a Dec on the Canelo show.
If he shows just a bit more than he normally dies he can defo win, but will he ?
Probably not otherwise he’d have done it before.

Bivol has just never been pushed to the limit. He could reach the plateau, but it's unclear how really good he is at this point. Canelo will be the first to push Bivol to the limit.skanksta wrote: ↑07 May 2022, 21:50 I was really high on Bivol early on but he plateaued while Canelo matured into a LHW.

Canelo will win.
He goes into every fight with a three round advantage anyway thanks to corrupt judges. Even if Bivol wins, he won't "win". GGG won, but he didn't "win".

Agree.
Bivol could easily get a Dec from neutral judges, but we all know a draw will be a loss, a close win a draw. In order to win he’s gotta win big and that’s too big an ask.

i mean canelo obviously gets some a side advantage, no doubt, but ppl exaggerate. he's had only 1 result his entire career where he obviously deserved a loss but didnt get it...and that was a draw. the floyd md was obviously ridiculous too
but apart from that, i think pretty much all the scoring can be defended. vs kov and plant there were judges with 95-95 and 96-94 even

So I was thinking correctly by reevaluating Bivol and match with Canelo. Bivol did a great job.

Infact those judges we're in tandem the whole fight, somehow!

Re: I wonder if we underestimate Bivol too much bc he has his chance to beat Canelo
Thank goodness they didn't rob Bivol of his rightful victory.
That scoring was way too close considering that Bivol arguably won 9 of the rounds.
Canelo has a lot to ponder as he has now realised that he can't walk through everyone in every weight class and expect his opponents to fall over to order.
I hear that he's activated the rematch clause, but I would be surprised if the result would be any different as he looked out of his depth against Bivol, but we shall see.

Lets see how Canelo will do in rematch and I'll tell you then.
Re: I wonder if we underestimate Bivol too much bc he has his chance to beat Canelo
Maybe Canelo talks about a rematch only now, in order not to look frustrated after a loss. He'll probably evaluate a situation and go for the bigger, but easier fights against guys from the lower classes: Golovkin or Charlo.apollo creed wrote: ↑08 May 2022, 06:53![]()

Canelo has a lot of pride. The only wish I have is the judges to be more fair. The rematch need more fair judging. Now Bivol has good leverage in negotiations.Syntax Error wrote: ↑08 May 2022, 06:18 Thank goodness they didn't rob Bivol of his rightful victory.
