Wow ,, i had rnd 1 and 2 ,, maybee just maybee a good case could be made for 10-10 rnds , 9 th rnd i knew would go to canelo don't think he actually landed more but threw more Bivol seemed to take that rnd off and that was it .margaret thatcher wrote: ↑08 May 2022, 01:20all 3 judges, bivol needed to sweep the last 3 to win, which thankfully he did
Still maybee now that invincibility is broke we may see some fairer results regards Canelo .... Thing is with Canelo i love watching him i love his style and his ringcraft , i've just come to hate the biass that surrounds him

tbf, it was also a very skillful and smart performance from bivol, not just size. they could be the exact same height, weight, and reach and bivol would give canelo a lot of problems

Yep just loved it , was a great performance of good boxing ,, the way he stepped in , stepped out ,, contolled the distance , , countered when he should of countered , moved out of range when he needed to just ring general manship at its best ,, Loved it Love fights like this ,,
coaches should tape them study them and have , your boxers watch them and analize them ,, great learning platforms for up and comers , just the way he moved back behind the jab ,,, countered with the hook enough to let Canelo know he was'nt a one trick pony , ,, basic boxing at its perfection . shown you don't have to have Lomencheko moves to win fights , just basics learned to perfection

Canelo could have been 55-5-1 now, if you know what I mean.
Re: Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez vs. Dmitry Bivol | DAZN - 7 May 2022
Just watched it. This
Lots of great fighters made a move up that bit too far.
I don't see Canelo chasing the rematch; he really didn't show anything he could capitalise on next time, and Bivol being similar age with much less fights isn't going to decline anytime soon.

10-2 Bivol. And some nice needle from Dmitry at the end. Golovkin shaking his head somewhere.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑08 May 2022, 01:20all 3 judges, bivol needed to sweep the last 3 to win, which thankfully he did

I'd be worried about pissing hot if I was Bivol, even if I was squeaky clean. I also wouldn't go home to celebrate, you couldn't turn down a reception with Putin which would probably get you sanctioned MTK style by The US.

Outstanding performance from Bivol, I had it 117-112, couple of close rounds could've maybe been wider, he dictated play from the off, jab was key, everything came off it, all his shots and combinations began with the jab, defence was excellent as well done a good job of keeping that left hand tucked up to avoid the Canelo right hands
Canelo was just second best all night, had a bit of success with the uppercuts on the inside, tried to work the body but not enough to win rounds, he just couldn't get off consistently and was outworked one thing I will say about Canelo's work was his defence was superb too, his head movement and the way he rode the shots was first class, he did get hit plenty but made Bivol miss with a lot more, still no doubt who the winner was I'm just glad to see Bivol not get shafted

Appalling cards as expected, but great fight, really engrossing. Bivol showed fantastic skills, and credit to Canelo for facing a proper LHW.

Re: Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez vs. Dmitry Bivol | DAZN - 7 May 2022
bivol's really skillful, excellent timing and sense of distance, a half step back had canelo missing widely and the guard was tight enough to prevent pretty much everything but some uppercuts getting in . that wasnt size that was skill, bivol only had an inch in reach and id bet they weighed roughly the same in the ring
where the size may have come in though...........bivol wasnt half bothered by anything canelo landed (even glancing shots have hurt past opponents) and bivol's shots seemed to get canelo bothered more than canelo usually is. he was never staggered or anything, but visibly uncomfortable when bivol would tag him and put them together
people can shut up about canelo beating or even hanging in with usyk and top heavys for now

Did I hear right, Canelo has been on a vegan diet? No wonder he looked knackered. Get back on the beef, son.

He dominated him. It just looked like a routine fairly dull defence for Bivol, the fact that Canelo was on the end of such a one sided affair adds stardust to the performance.
That said, I wholly expected the judges to ruin the evening so their verdict restored my faith in boxing somewhat,
Fairplay to Canelo, took his loss like a champ and spoke well afterwards

115-113 just stinks
That was easy for.Bivol
The guy was in a different league

Forever , he'd get knocked out if he went in with a 16/17 stone puncher. It was fanciful talk with no grounding in reality.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑08 May 2022, 05:05 bivol's really skillful, excellent timing and sense of distance, a half step back had canelo missing widely and the guard was tight enough to prevent pretty much everything but some uppercuts getting in . that wasnt size that was skill, bivol only had an inch in reach and id bet they weighed roughly the same in the ring

Re: Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez vs. Dmitry Bivol | DAZN - 7 May 2022
Bivol was a bridge too far for Canelo and that became obvious early on
Before the fight I fancied Canelo to get to Bivol and chop him down to size, how wrong that was. Bivol was calm and collected and just went about his work with the right plan rd after rd,those scorecards are ridiculous
No s*it talk from Canelo though, took his loss like the proper fighter and man he is, he's still a machine at Middle and a great fighter but he just bit off far more than he could chew last night & paid the price
At least he had a pop, there's fighters out there nowadays who don't know what testing themselves are, Canelo wanted to see how good he was and he failed at beating a prime LHW, losses in boxing,in life happen, its how you bounce back and I believe he will bounce back with a dominant performance
What a performance from Bivol though, always liked his style
