Shame to the fighters that are happy that Canelo lost! It shows their jealousy, hypocrisy and their true colours!

Post by apollo creed »

I saw on the internet that some fighters are jubilating low-key that Canelo lost but guess what !? Canelo is a very strong minded individual that is very resilient and he doesn't give up to fulfil his dream.

Canelo gave us a great fight by taking a big rysk which other "champions" don't do bc they're staying safe protecting their 0, and ironically want to get a big payday from Canelo.

I think Canelo will get back stronger, more improved and more savvy like he did after the FMJ fight! Canelo will probably rematch Bivol and try to avenge his loss.

Could you imagine the cheap arse-licking on the social media from the fighters that are happy now, if Canelo would beat fair&square Bivol in rematch?

I rooted against Canelo too, but it was more because of liking Bivol. Indeed, Canelo has done a great job, although sometimes with controversy. Anyway, losing to a prime fighter from the upper weight isn't bad at all.

Here's a drug cheat who has had questionable robbery decisions, cherry picks and inserts weight clauses into contracts to buy belts. Criticism is understandable.

i understand ppl not liking the questionable cards and the drug past, etc.................but anything opposition related (eg cherry picking), i just dont get. his opposition over the last years blows away that of any active fighter

check out the last opponents of the guys who call canelo out

benavidez: kyrone davis
andrade: jason quigley
charlo : juan montiel

etc

meanwhile canelo was going on his 4th undefeated top 10 champ in his last 5, prior to that streak he fought kov, jacobs, ggg. no one lately coming close to this type of run

Are there some clean fighter without questionable decisions, cherry picks and weight manipulations ?

Old Golovkin who he lost to, old Kovalev, Rocky Fielding, weight drained Smith, Bivol while he waits for Beterbiev it age a little. Yes you can give credit for his schedule of opponents but it's not like he's always going against the number 1 with no caveats. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a top 5 p4p but his recent record is not perfect. Challenging but not perfect.

Unlikely, but not many fighters are free from all criticism. So neither should Canelo.

you can spin any fighter like that, pretty much no comes close to his level of opposition over the last few years, certainly no one around his weights. you are holding him to a way over the top standard

hell, you say old ggg, but a supposed hot shot like benavidez is fighting a guy ggg absolutely pummeled

I agree but because of that he should not be free from all criticism. Others can have a legitimate dislike for him and it can be understandable.

Now we know, why Canelo decided to unify at SMW after trying LHW vs old Kovalev. Yet all them Andrades and Charlos obviously have way more cherrish picks.

The judges almost robbed Bivol of victory in this fight, so that is another reason. It shows that Canelo receives preferential treatment.

Indeed Canelo fought a 35 y/o GGG and he couldn't beat G in their 1st fight but also lets give his credit for fighting prime Trout, Lara, Jacobs, FMJ and now Bivol! I mean thats quality stuff from Canelo.

Indeed Canelo fought first Khan, Liam Smith and JCCjr instead of challenging a semi-prime version of GGG(the mandatory challenger for wbc mw title) but he still fought GGG even 2 times and G is still a top mw atm.

I mean Canelo is willing to take big risks and he would get better in remtach. What is outrageous is the hate and the negativity of some fighters that would want to see Canelo failing, losing and probably getting bankrupt.

They are low-key happy with subliminal messages on social media. :box:

Indeed the judges are favoring Canelo but we should acknowledge that Canelo as a boxing super-star brings lots of money to the boxing industry and to that community. If the fight seems slightly close then Canelo would win.

I personally haven't seen a huge improvement of skill from Canelo (post Maweather) as alot of people claim. I've seen a improvement in preparation and game planning, but not skills. He's still the same slow footed plodder who likes to fight off the front foot, counter and wear his opponents down with presence and consistent pressure. A spell for disaster against a rangey boxer who can make him miss and counter effectively. A boxer with a good jab that keeps him at bay is also a great tool to have. Bivol is great at both of those things.

Canelos power clearly didn't carry to 175. He wasn't able to break Bivols guard and Bivol was able to absorb his shots and didn't seem troubled at all. Bivol simply had to be Bivol to win last night.

Canelo is still a great fighter, but I knew going into this fight Bivol was the type of fighter that had the perfect skillset to negate all the things that make Canelo great. Kudos to Canelo for chasing those types of challenges. I don't see it as a "cherry pick" gone wrong, I see it more as a Canelo "bit off more than he could chew".

What surprised me most about the fight was how troubled Canelo looked when Bivol did land cleanly on him. GGG didn't even trouble Canelo like Bivol did and it seemed like if Bivol really stepped on the gas he could have really punished Canelo, Bivol was in that much control of the fight.

Canelo is a great fighter and fun to watch. But I just can't like him because the judges are clearly in his pocket, so I couldn't wait to see him lose just to spite the clearly biased judges.

Plus, Canelos fans are the second most obnoxious in boxing after Wilders.

Canelo got a few gift decisions and is way too arrogant towards other boxers. No surprise that many are happy that he lost.

I don't really see too many fighters crowing that he lost, I do think it's funny how some of 'em will comment as if oh yeah I could've done that.

Some of Jermall Charlo's fans acting like "He's lucky he ducked you" was funny because he would kick the sh*t out of Charlo.

For the most part I'm not seeing too much sh*tting on him from fighters. Fans are doing it, but that's typical. In Boxing all you are is your last fight in the eyes of the fans. Especially the current internet buzz of the fans.

So last week Canelo was unstoppable, and now he probably can't beat anyone

The truth naturally is in between.

I doubt he beats Bivol in a rematch...at least legitimately. But he could return to 168 and get some more big marquee wins.

If he wins 4 clear rounds against Bivol in a rematch they'd give it to him. Or hell 3 clear rounds and a toss up round.
