Re: GB Boxing announces plans to work with professional boxers
It raises quite a few questions. Firstly of funding and fairness. Turning professional for the majority is a balancing act of do so whilst still bringing in enough money to cover basic living expenses. Some do so by working full time .. some part time with local sponsors, a very few very fortunate ones with a regular signing on wage.
From the off some get an unfair advantage to have access to all GB boxing facilities; surely that has to raise how GB boxing is funded. Lauren Price and her girlfriend are both using GB boxing facilities and apparently have agreed costs etc .. however as is almost always the case, if a boxer makes it big and has a good purse then they typically cut out costs .. as Brooke did with Ingle for the Bud fight.

Its because they haven't got a great cycle for Paris and need guaranteed medals to keep up the funding.
