His promoter and trainer still believe in him, 1-2 fights more and they want him to fight for EBU title. The current champion is Andoni Gago, who will defend his title against Gavin McDonnell, so against one of them, I suppose.Stanny Onis wrote: ↑23 Nov 2020, 20:21Damn i didn't know these things. But of course he hasn't had the same ' American privilege in boxing' that Farmer has had. Also, he had some health problems (with anemia I think) and conflict with promoters. Recently, he was down and hurt vs a guy who has 0 KO in his record! He won the rest of the rounds, though. This fight is not added to BoxRec because of some conflicts on Polish boxing scene.

Re Dychko, he's the prime example of a guy who signed with then wrong team. His team have made him completely irrelevant by telling him to prepare for dates then not securing an opponent, putting no money into his competition and costing him numerous opportunities.

Not sure if he's ''unknown'' since he fights in the US, but Ali Akhmedov seems to be a decent prospect.

Re: Unknown prospects worth watching ?
I'll add another Super-Middleweight fighter from Poland - Mateusz Tryc (10-0 6 KO), physically strong fighter, whose best win so far is against 21-2-1 Shakeel Phinn of Canada. Probably not a world title potential, but he's a solid EBU title level fighter.
Fun stuff - Tryc vs some Bosnian Roy Jones Jr, who probably drank too much of rakija before the fight:
Tryc vs Buatsi (amateur fight, Euro Championship quarterfinal):

Igor Jakubowski, already mentioned in the topic, Euro Championship silver medalist and 2016 Olympics participant, he clearly has potential but I'm not sure if he takes boxing seriously, he's more interested into being a kind of celebrity, I think. I'll leave a video of his last, brutal KO, on a very limited opponent though.

Is there someone who can tell more about Ihor Shevadzutskyi? He's 5-0 5 KO now, I'm pretty sure he was Ukraine HW champion in amateurs (defeated Viktor Vykhryst), so far he faced only very weak opposition around the world, apparently he's put in shape now (from 138kg/304lbs to 120kg/265lb) and fought twice in last 4 months.

i guess he isnt going to do the whole GGG triple initial thing
Re: Unknown prospects worth watching ?
He'll probably get a HW title shot quicker this route. The CW division is so weak now the likes of Usyk, Gassiev and Briedis have/are moving up.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑30 Nov 2020, 22:12KK looked good in his debut, i notice he fought at cruiser despite being an accomplished am at shwVerdi wrote: ↑30 Nov 2020, 16:36 Kamshybek Kunkabayev

If he's promoted well, he's got the potential and ability to unify pretty quickly. He'd easily beat the established guys like Dorticus, Glowaki, Makabu etc and is IMO leagues above the skillset of other prospects like Okolie or Riakhporhe. If he manages to do an Usyk, he could get a HW mandatory faster and with less risk than the straight HW route.

Know he has been mentioned here but Australian heavyweight Justis Huni fights in about 24 hours against a pretty decent opponent considering its just his 2nd pro fight and he is only 21. No idea if it will be on tv out of Australia (most likely not) but its probably a fun fight if you can find it.

Re: Unknown prospects worth watching ?
Kunkabayev is managed by MTK so he will be in the rankings and pushing up the ladder quickly I would imagine. As you said Cruiserweight is one of those divisions that is not very well stacked at the moment but there are good prospects in the pipeline. If he is moved quickly (and probably will be given his amateur experience) then you will probably see him pushing for a World Title by 2022.Verdi wrote: ↑01 Dec 2020, 09:53He'll probably get a HW title shot quicker this route. Re: Unknown prospects worth watching ?
just randomly came across gurgen hovasnsyans name on the charlo-castano undercard......clicked and it revealed a 3-0 6'7 24 year old. kod 20-6 jesse byran (trev's brother?) in a couple
i couldnt find a pro fight from him, but there are some amateur ones - has a lot of am experience by the looks of it. took jalo to a split decision last year
he boxes a bit like fury, jiggles like him too lol. tbh i thought he was decent there, good speed and movement from a giant. will follow now to see how far he can go. i doubt hes a second coming but could be big and talented enough to get into fringe contending range at least
amazingly he's like 21-22 in that fight, looked more like 40
