Bivol-Canelo: how did you score it?

Post by jezzamundo »

I just watched the fight and had it 118-112 to Bivol, giving Canelo the 4th and 9th and scoring rounds 2 and 3 even.

I'd have no problem with someone scoring 2 and 3 for Canelo and having him up 3-1 after the 4th. 116-112 Bivol is a reasonable scorecard, if a little generous to Canelo. I thought the first round was close but clear to Bivol.

Rounds 5-12, with the exception of the 9th (Canelo's clearest round of the fight) were clear to Bivol.

the only clear round canelo won was the 9th, seemed like his final stand type of round, because after that he had nothing in the final 3. bivol seemed pretty unphased in the 9th and just kind of contently covered up. i wonder if it was his plan to encourgage canelo to gas himself

118-110 for me

I can't disagree with any of that. EO's scorecard on the RBR was truly baffling - he gave Canelo rounds 2, 3, 5, 6, 9 and 11. Worse than the official.scorecards.

Didn't put it on paper but 2-3 rounds for Bivol would be close to it

Bivol 117-111.

I thought the first 4 rounds were close, so I gave 2 to each fighter. Bivol clearly won every round after that except for the 9th.

118-110 Bivol.

Wasn’t a hard fight to score at all.

Much easier to score than the GGG Dilogy.

I think Bivol deserved to win 11 rounds, since punches that land on arms aren't supposed to count.

8-4 Bivol. I gave the first three to Canelo and the 9th. That's about it. First 3 were close, so they could've gone to Bivol just as well.

I think it exposes the judge corruption. They had it much closer than it was. If Canelo would have gotten a draw out of that (won the 12th round) it would have been a major black eye exposing the corruption in boxing.

To me, scoring it that close, already does, and I'm not a fan of Bivol at all. We've all seen it over and over.
