Dereck Chisora vs. Adam Kownacki - In the Works
Dereck Chisora vs. Adam Kownacki in the works for July
Eddie Hearn revealed on Thursday that he’s negotiating a fight between heavyweights Dereck Chisora and Adam Kownacki. The fight is still not signed, but Hearn seems hopeful that he can get it done.
Chisora (32-12, 23 KOs) has signed his portion of the contract, and they’re waiting for Kownacki to ink his side.
Apparently, this is the big fight that Hearn had talked about recently involving the 38-year-old former world title challenger Chisora.
Judging by the lukewarm reaction from boxing fans on social media, you can say that Kownacki (20-2, 15 KOs) isn’t a big enough name to get people amped up about Chisora’s next fight.

I'm sure those who cancelled DAZN will be flocking back for this one.

A real meh fight. Will probably be fun but after seeing Kownacki’s last fight I think he’s done. Bit like Lucas Browne.

Kownacki should have cashed out when he had chances to fight Wilder and Joshua and was undefeated. Chisora would outlast him.

Re: Dereck Chisora vs. Adam Kownacki - In the Works
If Hearn wanted to impress fans, he should have chosen one of these heavyweights for Chisora’s next fight:
• Frank Sanchez
• Martin Bakole
• Zhilei Zhang
• Joe Joyce
• Hughie Fury
• Andy Ruiz Jr
• Alen Babic
• Michael Hunter
• Luis Ortiz
• Frank Sanchez
• Martin Bakole
• Zhilei Zhang
• Joe Joyce
• Hughie Fury
• Andy Ruiz Jr
• Alen Babic
• Michael Hunter
• Luis Ortiz
Re: Dereck Chisora vs. Adam Kownacki - In the Works
Of these names, it's unlikely he'd feasibly be able to get any of them, to be fair. Sanchez wouldn't really be a viable option. Bakole just fought, wouldn't be ready for July. Zhang-Hrgovic is apparently being rescheduled & is still an eliminator. Joyce wouldn't happen. Hughie-Hunter is happening, and I doubt Eddie would've been able to pay more than Sky are probably paying Hunter. Ruiz-Ortiz are fighting each other, and Babic is going the bridgerweight route.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑19 May 2022, 12:46 If Hearn wanted to impress fans, he should have chosen one of these heavyweights for Chisora’s next fight:

Probably only looking at Wallin or Helenius that would be better fights.
Re: Dereck Chisora vs. Adam Kownacki - In the Works
Chisora should get another in the W column from this fight, which will make him a bit more of a reasonable opponent for his next valiant losing effort.

Re: Dereck Chisora vs. Adam Kownacki - In the Works
not sure why people would be so confident in chis tbh, he looked sh!t himself last fight and couldnt hold a shot nearly as well as he used to. his legs were awful and he's nearly 40
kownacki is crude and he defo looked poor his last outings, but he had a good streak before running into helenius, who has totally different style and dimensions to chisora. chisora isnt going to bang him with long shots from outside or have a chin he has to reach up at

Re: Dereck Chisora vs. Adam Kownacki - In the Works
I may well be wrong but I think Chisora has plenty left to deal with the likes of Kownacki. Who, let’s face it, has never been particularly good even at his peak and he is definitely on the way down now.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑19 May 2022, 13:04 not sure why people would be so confident in chis tbh, he looked sh!t himself last fight and couldnt hold a shot nearly as well as he used to. his legs were awful and he's nearly 40

Re: Dereck Chisora vs. Adam Kownacki - In the Works
i wouldnt say that del has been particularly good either. kownacki put together a run comparable to any del ever had
obviously kow looked bad against helenius, but helenius is totally different than chis. and chis is almost 40 and his legs were all over the place his last fight himself. everything was hurting him and he was getting bounced off the canvas. the cards were a joke , he clearly lost by miles
i think its pretty evenly matched tbh

Re: Dereck Chisora vs. Adam Kownacki - In the Works
Succinctly put.
It reminds me of the Skelton, Audley, Sprott, Danny Williams merry-go-round of heavies doing the circuit for paydays despite zero interest in the sport anymore.
Re: Dereck Chisora vs. Adam Kownacki - In the Works
Can't wait for this...
Re: Dereck Chisora vs. Adam Kownacki - In the Works
Nice one.
I'm a fan of old Del Boy, but after the second Parker fight, which was brutal, I don't mind not seeing him again.
As for Kownacki - if you get shown up twice by Helenius, well who cares eh?
Re: Dereck Chisora vs. Adam Kownacki - In the Works
I’m looking forward to it, I think it’s an evenly matched fight. And the fact they’re both coming off two back to back losses makes it easy to draw comparisons. DAZN keep em coming !

Re: Dereck Chisora vs. Adam Kownacki - In the Works
does daz stand for dazn
but i agree, it's actually pretty well matched i think. both fun fighters looking to bounce back with a win, they are right at each others level right now and this is the type of fight each of them should be having, rather than taking sure losses to better guys.
Re: Dereck Chisora vs. Adam Kownacki - In the Works
You may well be right, to be fair, I haven’t seen Chisora’s last fight and didn’t even read anything about it so wasn’t aware he had declined so much.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑19 May 2022, 14:13 i wouldnt say that del has been particularly good either. kownacki put together a run comparable to any del ever had

Who the fornicate wants to see this?
Re: Dereck Chisora vs. Adam Kownacki - In the Works
Delboy stops him.
Re: Dereck Chisora vs. Adam Kownacki - In the Works
I found it a bit hard to watch, and Parker isn't really a known puncher but he had Del Boy in a heap of trouble throughout the second fight.chinarich wrote: ↑19 May 2022, 16:14You may well be right, to be fair, I haven’t seen Chisora’s last fight and didn’t even read anything about it so wasn’t aware he had declined so much.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑19 May 2022, 14:13 i wouldnt say that del has been particularly good either. kownacki put together a run comparable to any del ever had

And that was the direct comparison between how Del was in the first fight, and the second.
Re: Dereck Chisora vs. Adam Kownacki - In the Works
I quite like this fight. It makes sense...is Kownacki still a force in the lower reaches of the top ten and Helenius simply had his number, or is he damaged goods....as ever, Del Boy's the fella to answer those questions.
Re: Dereck Chisora vs. Adam Kownacki - In the Works
That’s sad to hear. Chisora has earned well by all accounts, I would hate for him to go on for too long.KiwiRider wrote: ↑19 May 2022, 19:25I found it a bit hard to watch, and Parker isn't really a known puncher but he had Del Boy in a heap of trouble throughout the second fight.chinarich wrote: ↑19 May 2022, 16:14You may well be right, to be fair, I haven’t seen Chisora’s last fight and didn’t even read anything about it so wasn’t aware he had declined so much.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑19 May 2022, 14:13 i wouldnt say that del has been particularly good either. kownacki put together a run comparable to any del ever had

Re: Dereck Chisora vs. Adam Kownacki - In the Works
Sure chis is almost certainly sliding, but i think parker had been in a bit of a flat patch first fight, and put in a much better showing 2nd fight.
Main difference i saw wasnt Chis being much worse, it was parker sitting on some shots and throwing uppercuts. The uppercuts were the real difference between fights, and i think are a bit of a weakness to any head fowards Rumbler.
